War reporter Alex Quade was embedded with Air Force Special Operations Combat Controllers in Afghanistan in 2007. The U.S. Special Operators were advising coalition partner Canada on air strikes, and on a new piece of technology then, to avoid future fratricide and civilian casualty incidents (that system is now used by all U.S. forces).
