This is the song that I was looking forward to the most, based on some of the concert videos. It is nice to finally hear the lyrics clearly and I find it very soothing. I especially like the "Promise you can keep" lyric. Sounds like Sierra is proposing....If that happens, we are going to need at least one more holiday on the calendar! I wish the "skin" lyric had been something else like "spell" or "grasp".

I'd hate to be a hater, and I personally do not like rap myself, however both classical, acoustic, etc music, i love, but that doesn't mean rap artists can't have meaning within the music, sometimes its way too fast to understand, but other times it makes sense and is a good form of expression, though I don't fancy it. Maybe you meant like popular modern music that makes no sense but thats not the case for everything. For instance many people say that pop music is just about sex, money and drugs, and while a lot of the time it is, artists like Tori Kelly are off the charts with a good meaning, I hope you understand :)

Honestly I wasn't fretting over it. It was just a simple question. Like "Hey I wonder if anyone else finds this annoying." Not at all like, "This is soooo ANNOYING and everyone should agree with me!" I definitely did not mean for my 11 word, one sentence question to be interpreted in such a negative way. When reading comments on social media and texts others can read into things differently than face to face conversations because there is no nonverbal communication.

I know this is two years old, but f*ck yeah! I was thinking this while listening to it just now. I was like, "Man, I would not be surprised to find out Harry wrote this. I, mean everything fits." Because he wrote another one of their songs, I Love You, so I really wouldn't be at all surprised if he wrote this for them as well.

Truthfully? It's a beautiful song, beautifully sung, but it isn't great. It's a near miss. I hate being the Debbie Downer about it because there are some brilliant lyrics like, "Promise you, I'll be...The promise you can keep" and "Show me every side... The good, the bad, the better". That last one is particularly clever, as though they will grow and be better to each other by showing each other every side. But there are some amateurish phrases that just force the words to rhyme and fit the beat. "The road is wild, we're holding on for life" is clumsy because the expression is "holding on for DEAR life". This is a cliche, but with a word dropped to make it fit. They should have worked on it and made "holding on for dear life" fit in there, or don't use it. The following line, "Like a child... who's not afraid to cry" is really dubious. Holding on for dear life could definitely have you scared like a child. That's great! But why tack on "who's not afraid to cry"? That phrase is a throw-away that is in there just to make the line sort-of rhyme with the previous line. ... They come back really strong with the next line, "We're escaping to a place we'll never know" - Great line! They are escaping and are almost home as long as they are together; it doesn't matter that they don't know where they are going. It's frustrating to me because so much of the song is so good. A few critical lines just need some fixin'
