Oh, thanks. I have been told I have powerful words, but man...in my opinion, words bring out the best, and the worst in people. Words are what we all thrive on and without them, what would we do? When people say something powerful it brings out a part of them that's vulnerable, that is deep and makes an impression. When they say something mean it makes a cut. Lots of mean words and it makes a deeper cut, after a wile those cuts heal and turn to scars. In my opinion, nothing hurts more than words. I used to think I was broken, got jealous of my friends’ parents, thinking how come they could have a perfect family and not me? Wished they could spare some time for me, be present in all my life events. But the older I get, the more I see that they struggled too, that they did their best to raise me in every possible way they could. The older I get, the more I realized I was not broken, just scarred. But that scar taught me the things my parents lacked, I could still change and be a better person. My parents aren’t perfect, but they did their best for me. I wish God would give me more time with them, so I could give back at least even a quarter of love that they have given me.

My bf is enlisted in the military and leaving this summer for basic training. He'll be gone 4 months. I know it could be worse, but I also know not seeing him is going to be awful. We are both going to struggle with that. This song hit really hard. I'm so proud of him though. I know that God has a plan for us and I trust that. Update: he's back and we are closer in our relationship than we've ever been. I'm so blessed to have such an amazing boyfriend who prayed for me the whole way through. After watching their audition in X Factor, I've spent my past hour watching their past performances, checking their ig accounts (😭💔) and then I saw this.
