Before the fight I told my wife her story and her career how this was truly a David vs Goliath fight and she goddamn came through. So proud of Alexa Grasso for her hard work and belief. I was looking to Taila Santos to be the one to breakthrough but it was Grasso's moment to have. Now, I'm glad she can look to shut up the critics and lame MMA fans with a rematch. This is why when so many people complain sometimes to just move on from the former champion that you have to do a rematch. Not only do champions like Valentina deserve that with their title defenses but it allows the new champs to define their era and show this belt is theirs, no luck or fluke involved. These fighters don't go into their intense training camps and give their all for nothing and these "fans" are lame to think otherwise. Legit win by Grasso. Val trains for EVERYTHING and talks about it and shows it on her social media regularly as a world class martial artist. She lost. Get over it. Good on you Alexa. You deserve it all.

Very happy for Alexa, I liked her positive but humble attitude when I saw the interviews in the run up to the Shevchenko fight, she seems like such a nice person. I hadn't heard of her as I don't follow UFC that much. I watched some of her last few fights and noticed she seemed to be improving fight by fight. I can't say I expected her to win, but I definitely thought this would be a tougher fight for Shevchenko than many expected. It was so quick that she took Shevchenko's back and got the submission.
