Great chemistry between these two. The choreography is amazing and it shows great leading and fabulous following. Gentle, loving and story telling rumba, without robotics, crazy speed. Exactly how should one rumba look like.

@@matthewvalentine4965 Sure. 1. Weak content. There's nothing particularly complex, interesting, or authentic about their routines, unless one considers the weird lamabada-like move in their cha-cha or the unpalatable squat/hip roll that she does here original. This means that the techical aspect of their dancing must be pretty impressive to merit a 5th place in this otherwise formiddable final, which brings me to # 2. Footwork. The lady's footwork is only subpar: she pushes on the outside of her foot all the time and, because of that, points her toes superficially, which does not not help in creating appealing leg lines. It is an understandable error in a lower-ranking couple, but not a Blackpool finalist. #3 Presentation. As @Joe Testa already noticed, they have off-putting facial expressions. I can only add that, in addition to the weird stuff already mentioned, their dancing has a mimetic feel, meaning that, imo, they are engaged in the task of imitating good Latin dancing, rather than attempting to generate a dance product of their own, and I think it translates into their facial output. This is all not to say that this couple is bad or denigrate the hard work they had done. This is only to say that, in my view, they don't belong in this final.

I’m open to criticism and other points of view; after all, it’s in the tension between different points of view that best ideas and conversations are sometimes born. Please note that I only express my subjective opinion (Vox populi so to speak), not attempting to sign the official certificate of dance proficiency for this couple: the judges have taken care of that. As to my dance videos-alas, my dance days are long gone!

I don’t understand how you can say they’re lucky to place in the final. Black pool is one of the most prestigious (if not the most prestigious) competition in the world with world class judges. Are you telling me you know better than these judges? I’d like to know your credentials. Please share…
