Steiner is such a goofy character towards the beginning of the game. It's nice he gets his big heroic moment with triumphant music wrapped up as part of the whole awesome sequence that ends with the gorgeous Alexander cinematics. Plus the first appearance of Garland! A memorable episode indeed.

Great game design to give Steiner (the character you haven't used in ages) some easy battles with Beatrix so you can get him caught up in levels.

The plot thickens! This part has so many awesome movies, especially when Alexander is summoned and defeats Bahamut. Also, the final card game against Cid isn’t scripted, you actually aced that match and got the best possible reward I think.

That final Tetra Master win is a somewhat lucky win actually. Opponent had stronger cards than yours but the D6 rolls in each situation went in your favor. In a nutshell, what happened is like your were throwing a single dice while your opponent was throwing three and in every battle they got a total of 3 and you got higher than 3 with one single dice :P

The game is not scripted, you were a bit lucky but also good so congrats! ^^ Btw I really like this part of the game, the cgi videos are incredible! P.S: yeah, that part with the Knights of Pluto is very difficult on your first run, you should collect informations about the Plutos at the beginning of the game and then remember them after hours of gameplay. So don't sweat about it, it's normal and you also were a bit unlucky

Great work on the card game! You're a pro! I love your play through btw. I also love this about these Final Fantasy games that the story takes you on such a journey and constantly unravels as more layers are revealed.

Winning flawlessly the card tournament is definitely lucky. ^^ You should have lost one of the combats but luck was on your side. ^^ Also, this was the moment I was expecting since you first said "I hope Alexandria don't get destroyed" Yeaaaah, about that. ^^ This game is so good at swinging its mood. Going from happy and funny with a tint of drama, to carefree card games and Vivi's home to full on war in an hour. You're never safe in FF9, even if it pretends otherwise with its art style and colorful characters

Garland and Alexander, you're in the thick of it now eh Kat? 37:26 just like Eiko's cooking theres a certain order to things, impossible to know without a guide. The music that plays while garnet ascends is beautiful is it not? A simple tune with a hint of foreboding. Fun fact throughout all of final fantasy that's the one time Bahamut got bested by a better summon.
