The German D is voiced exquisitely.( one on the right of course) It is the tonal pocket I prefer and the sonic target I aim for in my restorations. Dark but clear. The tone floats out. It has a big sonorous bass with an articulate cello range(low tenor). The treble are well balanced and the registers are balanced as well. It has all the hall marks of a great soundboard system and a tech who knows what to do with it! On the other hand there are two different but very nice flavors on the stage and to that I always say viva la Difference! I liked his point about teaching children that whatever the piano learn to get the best sound out of it. Difficult in many cases and but not impossible in most. This is the students challenge. With the help of a good technician those pianos can be improved to some extent. That is our challenge and responsibility. Well Done Sally Phillips.
