@thomasthompson63783 жыл бұрын
@@tuberobotto I'm sure that he could do exactly that; but doing so wouldn't work well with the the Little Red Riding Hood piece. She's running away from a wolf who is determined to kill and eat her. One of the things that makes this performance so fine is the way that Alexander virtually lives the music (which is exactly why he's sweating so much at the end). He's both the wolf and little red riding hood, and the conflict between those two roles is difficult to portray pianistically without running into trouble. This is one of Rachmaninoff's most difficult pieces, and Alexander handles it exceptionally well.

None of these great pianist, including the great Horowitz, my favorite, played Mozart like Alicia De La Rocha or Bach like Glenn Gould. What these great pianists have is the virtuosic vehicle and time to continue to leave their legacy as did Horowitz. But to compare this young genius with another great genius is just a matter of taste. If someone wants to put this young great pianist down, let them first upload their playing of the same work so we can see their perspective!!! .
