Thank you for this. We went Naples Museum in hopes to see the supposed bust of Hannibal but it wasnt to be found. It's amazing to think about the eyes that beheld these objects from the beginning.

The key thing you left out was the important role Alexander’s conquests played in spreading of Greek language and culture to the east. He wanted a unified empire which was a fusion of Greek and Persian and perhaps Egyptian culture , much like the Roman Empire because a fusion of Greek and latin culture later on

Your videos about MANN have inspired me and I went to visit two weeks ago. Also took a trip to Pompeii. I couldn't believe the amount of artwork preserved and I found it very helpful to watch your videos just before going, so that I kind of knew some general background info. Thanks, your videos are great!

Always love Solid Alexander content. I will watch a video completely for some new tidbits presented with new art. This must be what a fashion yuppie experiences when they blow exorbitant sums on a few strings of linen

Great video! Very entertaining and informative. However, Alexander had light hair, not dark hair, so how accurate can the Pompeii mosaic painting really be?

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the archeological museum of Naples houses the lion's share of the Campania artifacts? The region during that brief moment of time fascinates me. Such a relatively complete view of the past, but mostly the people in "lightly ransacked" cities and villas. Many of them were still there waiting for us. May we live long enough to see the untouched wonders of Herculaneum.

Yes the MANN is the key museum. But now see Herculaneum and Pompeii on site museums.

Can you tell me about Saint Colonas. Whom the Alexander took with him from Taxila ? Saint died in babylonia. What's the impact of saint colonas over Rome culture?

He never consolidated all of his conquests. Tho vast I cant imagine had he survived holding onto it. The spread of Hellenism was the effect.

Stop renaming him to Alexandros & also wasn't Greek. Greece didn't exist till 1820's. Sick of seeing modern Greeks stealing other people's cultures, history & language as their own.
