For me, this solidifies Volk as the featherweight GOAT. Sure Aldo had a longer title run but the game has evolved so much and the competition Volk has faced is definitely on another level. Not only this but the way he has dismantled dangerous top tier opponents, often making it look easy, is truly spectacular. A legit master of his craft and a great ambassador for the sport to boot. Has lived up to his name and then some, the featherweight GOAT.

Volk is the fighter's fighter. He has an incredible skill-set ranging across every discipline. And a phenomenal fight IQ. And unparalleled discipline. But that doesn't explain him. There are people better than him in every single area. But when push comes to shove...it's heart. He simply will not be beaten. Khabib was probably the only one who was saying to Islam, before the first Oliveira fight, that Volk will be a harder fight...because of his heart.

Apart from his Head Coach Joe Lopez, there was Eugene Bareman, head coach of City Kickboxing; Craig Jones, one of best grapplers/BJJ in world; and Hickman the wrestler. It's hard to assemble a better corner!
