There’s maybe a lil sliver of Eric Burdon too on the vocal delivery- especially live like this.

I saw these guys in Baltimore in 2009. They put on such a great show. Jesse is just a powerhouse of a front man. He's like half Iggy Pop/half Rob Tyner, but with a guitar.

you guys are just too funny. So happy to watch my old friend David Catching really making it in Eagles of Death Metal! I will always have New Orleans in my heart with you and Randy. That was just too much fun in my reckless but fun youth.

This broke my heart. I had to stop and cry several times. While I never heard of your band before this, I will be listening now. As hard as this interview was, thanks for sharing this horrible event. I am sorry you lost a friend.

Never heard of them until tonight's attack on Paris! No word so far on where they are at.
@paule.mp38 жыл бұрын
+Michael Randolf He's using a capo because his guitar is tuned in an open tuning and he wants to play in the right key!!! And (controlled) feedback is often wanted in rock music (ask hendrix) - I think that's why he uses an hollowbody or semi hollowbody guitar!!! Please think before you comment!
@JoeGarchar19608 жыл бұрын
Michael Randolf I am glad they got out from last nights attack. But I have to agree with you, I do not care for them either. It's pretty bad.

Minute 43 is close to reality now "Even if they killed us tonight...". All my thoughts and support go to all those who suffer from the injustice brought to Paris, France and the world by this small group of unhuman indivuals who need to be stopped. Bless EODM, Paris, France, and heal the world.

So this is what the so called "IS"-Killers call "perverted". It shows they got no humor, no sense for anything, no brains and most of all not one human feeling in their hearts. My deepest sympathy for all the victims and their families and friends. Je suis "Eagles of Death Metal"

+Jesse Beckton I bet you've never been to a Grateful Dead concert.
@jessebeckton37178 жыл бұрын
+SisterRayVU68 I have not but I have been to my share of concerts and know some regionally popular bands, Normally they are ready to play when the first walk on to the stage. Re-tuning the guitar is needed through out the show but normally taken care of during the sound check prior to the show.
@SisterRayVU688 жыл бұрын
Jesse Beckton It's called showmanship, and to entice your anticipation. This is a trick that goes back to vaudeville.
@vbrunt8 жыл бұрын
+Jesse Beckton This bad is a lousy studio band put together two weeks before this performance. Your comment is spot on. Thats why at 2:50 in the clip real musicians are watching because they never heard of them either

From facebook: "UPDATE 2: The wife of Eagles Of Death Metal drummer Julian Dorio has told The Washington Post that the band members are safe. “We are just holding our breath and saying prayers for everyone,” she says. “He called to say that he loved me and he was safe. Everyone on stage was able to get off.” French president François Hollande has declared a state of emergency and closed the country’s borders."

None the less, the original question was which tuning EoDM use. Not which tuning you have used. Jesse Hughes plays with his guitar tuned to DGDGBD.
