Idk if you know this but Funfact: back when they were still trainees, Woozi was called by their management only to ask him to choose which unit would he like to be part in "vocal or perfromance" because he was that good, he could be in either. fun fact super's korean title is sonogong, which means the monkey king. it comes from the chinese mythology of son wukong or more famously Goku. the hand sign that's a part of the choreo (two fingers to the forehead) is a reference to dragon ball z!! also the8's part is literally every carats' favourite scene. the way he was missing throughout the whole mv (understandably so due to his injury) so the transition to his scene in the coolest day way ever was just... a very special moment for fans. i love this mv and song so much. my national anthem

Yessssss I got so happy seeing this title!! I am so happy ya'll are finally reacting to this. Love ya'll. I love the mv so much, especially The8 part cause The8 shoulder was actually injured which is why he was only using one arm but he still ate it up and that's why I loved it even more. The behind the scenes for the dance practice is so cool cause it shows them really trying to get the moves right and how hard they was practicing especially S.Coups cause he kept doing his jump part over cause he really wanted it to be perfect. I’ve seen them do everything and by far I’ll say this is the craziest comeback ever like personally my fav in terms of POWER too😭bc they really came out saying, look at us. FOCUS ON US. they’re known as the kpop performance powerhouses, the kings of performance & synchronicity and this song is all about loving their team and crew and THE WHOLE THING is performance based like there’s no scene changes or anything, they basically said ‘we’re the best’

Seungkwan is such an underrated dancer, like I love watching him. The8 did such a great job and such a impactful presence even with his injury. Its so fun to see you enjoy woozi so much and he really is such a talented guy. With super it was also so touching to see him finally get his moment. He's never once prioritized being the spotlight and has always thought of his members first. Last year he had opportunity to do an OST with a famous Japanese artist (shingo katori) and it was probably assumed that he was going to sing on it too but no he said that jeonghan, mingyu and seungkwan should sing on it and that their voices suited it the best. Shingo revealed this in an interview cause he was really impressed. He's gotten so many offers to produce for others but only did a few early in his career, cause as he said seventeen is his main job and he can't afford to do much other stuff, esp since those things deserve his full effort too. He's not ever wanted to brag or feel superior cause of his producer role, like he's just one part of the team and also wished for the company to not promote the fact that they produce their own music too much cause he felt like that shouldn't matter. Though in 2023 it was clear that he was working on becoming more confident and proud, and gosh (and it's for other reasons too) he really became a lot brighter and happier last year. Anyways that's why it was so amazing to see him have such a large presence in SUPER, and why no carat complained about him getting so much more lines in the song. It felt like a big thank you for all the hard work he does in the shadows without ever once complaining. Their choreographer's first thought after hearing the song was that he was the main character of it, love you Choi youngjun, and it really shines through. Woozi is also a big Anime fan, once did a 6 hour live ranking ones from his childhood, so it's really sweet to see him have his moment with a song that yes is inspired by the of myth of sunwukong but also has references to the anime it inspired, DragonBall. Can you tell that hes my bias lmfao (and yes hes a gym bro, goes at least once a day)

So normally with an MVP or dance practice, I recommend watching at least 13 times so you can zero in on each member each time you watch. But this one needs so much more because you’ve got to watch the back up dancers too. And you’ve got to check out the lights and the fire in the scenery in the background. Because that is a show of its own. And finally, watch Spider if you’re a fan of Hoshi dancing.

DK has been my bias since the day I became a Carat; he is just so freaking funny, extremely kind and out of this world talented. I been into K-pop since 2018 and he has the best singing voice I’ve ever heard - and he’s an incredible dancer… but besides him being number one for me, I can’t pick a number two, because they’re all so amazing and I love them so much 🩷🩵 All though I like other groups as well, there no one quite like Seventeen 💎 By the way you should really check out BSS and their songs Fighting and Just Do It. Loved this reaction as always keep them coming 🫰Yes, as a lot of comments have already said, The8 had a collarbone injury at the time so he mainly danced with one arm and didn’t appear as much, we appreciate that he still put in a lot of work for the comeback. This was one of Woozi’s best eras! He absolutely shined during this since he produced the song and he put in a lot of work. The song’s name in English is basically translated as Sun Wukong, who is a trickster god in Chinese mythology (He’s also known as the Monkey King if you’ve ever heard of that name before). In this song, I believe a lot of the inspiration came from Woozi’s love for anime and cartoons since Sun Wukong is a character in Dragon Ball Z. There are also a lot of lyrical references and visual references to Sun Wukong in the dance and lyrics. For example, at 7:46 “my flying cloud” is a reference to Sun Wukong’s ability to fly on a cloud. And YESSS, their dance practices are sooo in sync 🔥🔥🔥🔥 It’s so hard to get like 3 people to dance in sync imagine having 13 and then like 30 backup dancers 😂😂 HYBE always has some of the best backup dancers 🎉 I can’t wait to see the rest of your reactions. For the next song, I would either recommend Left and Right (which released in 2020) or Very Nice (which released in 2016). Both of these songs are very iconic and some of the best in seventeen history. Especially the Very Nice dance practice, which is one of my favorite dance practices of theirs to this day!! Cameras does not give justice to Moon Junhui's visuals. Vernon is so college crush coded.
