5 years this October 21st we will have been married. We met while working at a hospital. He worked in hospitality as a housekeeper (a great one actually); and I was working as a Patient Care Technician at one of the Adventist hospitals near by. I use to hide his housekeeping cart, in random places. One slow weekend on the floor, I worked on (PCU), we actually sat down and talked, and about a year later we got married. The short version is: My husband is good friends with two family members for over 20 years. He hit me up on Facebook after coming up in conversation as being single. Lol. Neither of us knew each other even though we hung out with the same people. We all went out and he dazzled me by telling me about his national tour with his band. I was enamored with his musical talent. He is a guitar player in two bands. We casually dated and I moved in after only dating for 6 months. Almost broke up during a kitchen renovation and got engaged two weeks later. We had our fairy tale wedding and are still going strong. This August, we are together 10 years and married for six. I'm so sorry, Scott. My grandmother lost my grandfather 13 years ago this year, the same year my brother & sister in law & I gave them their 2nd & 3rd great-grandchildren 3 weeks apart. He was over the moon for them! My son was the 1st grandson he'd had in about 22 years, so he was ready to fish with a little buddy (though he took my daughter all the time, his 1st great-grandchild who was 8.5 when he died). He got to see them & know them 4 & 5 months, then left us unexpectedly. They were married 48 years. We never saw it coming. He wasn't sick. He loved the Lord so much & served Him from the time he got saved until he passed, so I guess the Lord blessed him by taking him peacefully in his sleep. He had the biggest smile on his face, so I know he saw Heaven in that moment between life & death & just smiled. He was home. My Granny is 10 years younger, so she's had to live the last 13 years wo Him & who knows how much longer she'll have to continue wo him (hopefully, selfishly for me, I hope a very long time). She's 78 now & she still misses dancing with Poppa. I know you miss doing the same. I'll say a prayer for you that the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your heart & mind in Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:7). If you both knew Jesus, which it sounds like you do, then you're going to see her one day & dance through eternity together, knowing one another better there than we ever could here, which is so beautiful! She'll be waiting at the gates for you. My Granny said Poppa will probably try to hide bc he knows he's in trouble for leaving her lol. I told her, no way! He loved her too much! ❤️

I’m getting married this weekend after bringing our wedding 5 months forward. Our son was diagnosed in 2020 with stage 3 Neuroblastoma at the tender age of 5 years old. My fiancé and I fought for his life to get through his treatment. 5 gruelling rounds of chemotherapy and 14 rounds of radiation and last week on may 19th we received the devastating news that his cancer has come back. Now we’re fighting against the clock to get down the aisle before he’s too sick to be there. This song hits home for so many reasons. We’ve struggled so hard, lost jobs, couldn’t pay bills and had friends turn their backs when we needed it the most. I’ll be walking down the aisle to my best friend with this song playing. The first night I met my husband, I stayed over at his place. We went to lay down and ended up both crying to each other, in each other's arms, about the loss or decline of a parent's health. I posted this on one of your shorts. I initially saw your rendition of Dammit and loved your version of it. I went to spotify and was floored to hear this song. Met my wife in College, we spent my senior year and her freshman year together. I deployed to Desert Shield/Desert Storm after I graduated. We had a long and bumpy road but have been together for 34 years and married for 27 of them. The chorus of this song tears me up everytime I hear it. I first saw my husband across a crowded parking lot. I told my friend that I was going to marry him and she laughed. He held my hand that night and we had our first kiss the next. After a week we were engaged. Three weeks later he left to Utah to take care of his sisters kids while she was working at the airforce base. He was away for over 4 months and it was so difficult. He finally came back in October and we were married in January. I almost died having our first son, a 2 lb 14 oz preemie who has cp and cf and we still were brave enough to have 5 more kids. When our youngest was a year old and just shy of our 14th anniversary he died from complications from surgery. The one thing I miss the most is slow dancing in his arms. The 1st time and every time I hear this song I cry my heart out. The man I love we divorced 12 yrs ago next month. We was young and dumb and the relationship was so crazy. the day of our divorce we went to lunch together and promised each other we'd always be here for one another. We went from divorced to best friends. He recently told me he waited for 12 yrs for me as if I was supposed to know. Life has been crazy and hard for these 12 yrs. Now hes getting married to a girl he rushed into a relationship with. It's easy. She doesn't hold him accountable to who he is in his heart but in the physical she allows him to do whatever he pleases. It wasn't until I couldn't relocate to where he is is when he decided to get married. I'm wrecked. My son is 4 and they are close he loves him as if he was his dad and it kills me. My heart is so wrecked because of it all. Everytime I hear this song a vision of us plays in my heart. It hurts so much to loose him all over again. He says he isn't going anywhere and wants a relationship with my son but I wont love another woman's man. He can't keep me and her both. And thats what hes doing by trying to facilitate a relationship with my son. He won't let go so I have to. However ty for an absolutely beautiful song of the heart. 🥺

Bitter sweet for me... this is the most beautiful song I've ever heard but it breaks my heart. The day I paid for my venue and dress my fiance went into full kidney failure and we found out he had a terminal illness. I never did get my moment, but we did go through lots of struggling and crying, and questioning our faith. He's now gone and so is part of me. I was with my ex husband for 10yrs. There was some DV involved & i ended things when my son was 4.5yrs old. My bf after him cheated on me repeatedly, was mentally abusive & he was a narcissist. He managed to pull me back in every time with his lies. I finally had enough & told him it was over when he told me nobody would want me on a permanent basis because my autistic son was too much baggage for any man!!! So beautiful you have an amazing voice, this hits and is very true story me and my husband been together for 15 going on 16 years married 11 years of the 15 years we met when I was 16 and he was 19 we have 3 beautiful children our first born our only son passed away at 3 days old he would of been 13 now and then we had two daughter’s who are now 12 and 9 years old we been through so much hard time and times are getting harder my husband became disabled 3 years ago so he can’t work anymore and I had surgery and can’t work yet so many times we try to figure out what we’re going to do and how we’re going to do it no vehicle cause it broke down and being stuck at home it’s a lot of stress but we get through it together and know god will bless us we just have to be patient so if you can make it through the hard times and still make it through when you have good times that’s what love is being there for that person you love ❤️
