For those of you confused: basically another (russian) athlete got gold because they performed a more clean and comprehensive routine, she on the other hand lost because her coaches promised her she’d get gold if she did spectacular feats with less polish. Needless to say doesn’t necessarily matter in the end because for some reason russia just can’t stop giving their athletes performance enhancers.

Trusova was the first in the world to perform 5 quadruple jumps at the Olympics and she was given 2nd place most likely due to political reasons since the West is trying to belittle Russia in all areas

The gold medal that year also went to Russia, just a different athlete, who had a less complicated programme, but she performed it clean and without mistakes, unlike Trusova. Trusova’s coaches made her go for world records and complicated elements instead of a clean steady programme, and that cost her the medal, not some conspiracy theories
