Agreed!! I'm drier in the winter so if I wore matte /powders I'd be a flakes mess. I get my light foundation in dewy formula and darker in matte lol always have and always will. It seems so backwards to wear creams and tints .... like they are heavier and feel hot.

THANK YOU!! Fellow NH native here! I’ve always felt like summer is not the time for all the creams. I would rather use them in the cooler months. Also so happy you shared that SPF because I have seen it on other channels and never could find it due to it not being linked. I feel like I have always struggled to find one that works well under my makeup and doesn’t sting my eyes. They ALL freaking sting my eyes! You’re the best!

THANK YOU for shouting out powders for summer! I do not like to layer cream products over sunscreen either! Everything is so sticky and slippery (we have 85-90% humidity here) that powders are a must. I get budge proof makeup by doing a layer of setting spray between each step and only using powders-lightly!-on top of the sunscreen/skin prep. Also congratulations on your brush launch!! ❤

Yup. Creamy sunscreens make me sweat a lot more. Its confusing what's better, serum sunscreens or the spray ones that can be sprayed over the makeup like a setting spray.

As a person with oily skin the powders contain the oil and sweat a little bit 😁 I think it's different depending on the type of skin!

Sooo I 100% agree that creams are sooo much better for winter. I work for a beauty manufacturer and July/august is traditionally when fall/winter products are launched! So it seems like they are launching for summer but it’s just prepping for the next season. Like how fashion week for fall/winter is in like June!

I love the look and ease of a powder contour, it is very easy to control the outcome of the look, with cream you can accidentally make yourself look like a character from nightmare before Christmas instantly.

I wish I could do this technique but I have so much rosacea and redness in my face that contour, bronzer, and blush don’t show up unless I even out my skin tone first. I’ve learned to accept that my makeup is probably going to melt off my face 😆

Hi! Wow I have never been here so early. I've asked this before but I'm going to keep asking! Have you ever done an eye look with just lighter colors (lots of white, shimmers) for highlighting? Rather than using lots of dark for pushing things back, using lots of light colors to bring things forward looks less dirty on my hooded eyelids. Would love to see your version of it! I've seen it in a lot of Korean makeup looks. Also thank you for everything you have taught me! I recently did my sister-in-law's makeup for a photo shoot and it looked amazing! I personally don’t do much makeup in the summer. Just tinted spf and then a cream blush or bronzer. I find cream products easier and quicker too. That’s why they are my go to. But then again they are my go to all year round

Loved this Alex 😊 This is my go to makeup all year long, not so perfect though and maybe I need to switch to powers because I'm new to doing make up and I don't like the feeling of having something on my face. I choose cream products because I have dry skin and even acne prone, but maybe doing a combination of creams and powders would feel better and lighter on my skin. I don't even use moisturizer on hot days. I use Sun Bum 70 "proof" 😂, and that gives a nice adhesive glow. Followed by Loreal powder foundation and bronzer, a tiny dab of the True Match concealer by the eyes, bronzer and a dab of some kind of shimmer, brown liner around the upper lashes and the outer third of the lower, black mascara. My face goes plenty red from heat and hot flashes, so no blush. Lips get a nude pencil and a light balm if I feel fancy. No highlighter. Eyebrows get combed and set with gel, darkened with gray or taupe pencil. Skin recovery care happens after cleansing before bed.

I have _normal_ skin and switch out my makeup during Summer and Winter. It's predominately powders during the Summer and creams for Winter. This is how I've always done it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes!! I’ve never tried Rephr brushes, but I ordered yours plus a couple others! I’ve actually had trouble finding a blush brush I like - hoping this is it! Powder makeup in the heat is the best!! It just melds so nicely with skin.

Finally. Also: mineral sunscreen and summer go hand in hand. mineral goes drier throughout the day, and chemical gets more oily (in my experience). i have normal skin, so if it gets too hot, any makeup s

I live in Florida, which is disgusting, so I don’t really do daytime skin care during the summer, other than a gentle cleanse. I wait a few minutes after applying my spf, then do a very light dusting of powder followed by setting spray, so makeup can’t interfere with my sun protection.
