I read the first Keeper of the Lost Cities book which I really enjoyed but haven't had a chance to pick up the other books in the series. I lived in North Carolina for about a year so I remember how hot it could get at times which is so different to the hot that you find in the North. I would love to go book shopping, grabbing some caffeine to keep energy up, ice cream, food and generally have a great time. McKay's is on my list of book stores to some day visit! Thanks for taking us along so to speak.

I love The Arrival. Or rather I haven't read the book but I've seen it as a play where they used his drawings. So it was the full story and with the original illustrations. But as a play. It is very impactful.

Oh yeah! My mum bought me a book today. A year at the château. A TV series of a family from England who went to France, bought a château, done it up over the years and this book is about the first year of their adventure... I absolutely adore the show! I read the Binding and OMG I LOVVVVVVEEEED IT! I read some reviews on The Betrayals where a lot of ppl didn’t enjoy it compared to the Binding. I’m going to read it myself regardless but I may wait until it’s discounted to buy it. Bridget Collin’s writing is beautiful. Hobgoblin looks so good!

I read The Betrayals last month and really loved it! It's kind of 'out there', though, and likely a lot different than what you would imagine based on the synopsis, so definitely keep an open mind while reading! 🙂 The world is actually loosely inspired by a German classic called 'The Glass Bead Game' by author Hermann Hesse.

I feel like you would like The Binding by Bridget Collins. I went into it thinking it was one thing and it was a COMPLETELY OTHER THING. I imagine The Betrayal will be the same and I’m totally picking up a copy haha. Her writing is beautiful. A bit slow at times but atmospheric and emotional and poignant.
