"In 1932-1933, Tansman made an unprecedented artistic tour around the world - starting from the United States, through Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Ceylon, India and Egypt, to Italy." (Wikipedia). So I presume he really did visit all these places personally. Remarkable music.

Amazing pieces, thank you for this discovery! Just a note, for IV. "Le marché aux oiseaux" translates to "The bird market", not "The march of birds" :)

Oh wow! Immediately a new favourite which no one could believe was never discovered before. Thanks for posting, the only time had heard of Tansman before was on a Godowsky recording, just a footnote. Perhaps he is another Gershwin.

Tansman IS NOT a Polish composer ; he is a French composer. At the end of his life Poland tried to reconciliate with him, but as a jew, he fled away Poland. He became French (with a French passport, OK ??? LIKE CHOPIN , ok ??? ) ; he studied the music in France and was a close friend to Ravel and his musicians circle ! STOP with all those fake news from Polish wikipedia !
@Jimsmith0198 ай бұрын
Are you seriously trying to claim that Chopin was a French composer? LOL
@deodatdechampignac8 ай бұрын
@@Jimsmith019 he was Franco-Polish ; and he had French passport and never had Polish passport ; and his name is Chopin and not Chopinski, n'est ce pas, Ducon ! the father of Chopin was born in Lorraine from where I am ; who is serious ? you ? make inquiries out of wikipedia!

@@deodatdechampignac Great - then I’m sure you will agree Rachmaninoff, Stravinsky, and Schoenberg were American composers!
@deodatdechampignac8 ай бұрын
@@Jimsmith019 Dear this is not a so good remark ! of course I will not agree :-) ; those composers had no American blood and no American culture ; contrary to Tansman (French culture) and Chopin (half French blood and more than half French culture) ! one wikipedia notice is very amusing : Bloch, a Swiss Jew composer becomes an American composer !
