Never had to go to the nurse because of lice. But I did once have lice and didn’t know, and I ended up giving it to my bestfriend. So me and my bestfriend had lice at the same time. Instead of finding it gross that I gave her lice, she thought it was really fun and cool that we had lice at the same time. She said that this meant that we were truly best friends, and that we were bonded for life😭 I don’t talk to her anymore, but she was really nice to me for the most part, and one of the only friends that stayed with me throughout the years

I've been an assistant teacher at a preschool since I started uni, and my first year, we had a kid who got lice several times. I had to get checked by the nurse since I worked in his classroom. Luckily I never got it, since I kept my hair up and mixed tea tree oil into my shampoo. But getting my scalp checked was really relaxing.

In elementary school, I had a friend of convenience (semi-rural area with areas that had miiiiiles between houses, they lived a mile away so they were convenient for my parents). Her mom would douse her and her sister in lice shampoo and do nothing else. I had LONG DENSE hair and was a tenderhead so brushing it out with a lice comb was torture. I got lice 3-4 times before they came over to my house for the first time in a long time. They got in the car and it REEKED of that medicated shampoo. Mom asked the girls if she could look at their hair and it was CRAWLING. ....I stopped being allowed to visit with that friend for a lot of reasons, and I think that was the tipping point for my mom. Never got lice again after that, though
