I hope you never feel as though you have to struggle in silence. Individually, we might just be one voice, but together we can form a chorus of change. And, in any career field, always remember your worth. If you’re a model who has also struggled, model alliance is a great resource to reach out to (this can be done anonymously):

Thank you to everyone in the industry who has spoken out, and made this easier for me to come forward with.

I can’t speak for others, but for me and many other viewers, we never judge you negatively on the way you speak. In fact, for many of us, we love how you speak, we love your humble and authentic personality, we love your 70s vibe and love for Stevie. We love Cooper and bathroom chats. Speak about what you want, when you want, and however you want because the majority of us will 💯 support you. Update: now that I’ve watched the entire video, I just want to say you are an incredible woman!! I also want to say that just because others may have had “worse” experiences doesn’t take away from how traumatic, scary, dangerous, heartbreaking, and frustrating yours was. Sharing your experience doesn’t make this a “pity party” or a “privileged problem” it’s sharing how toxic mindsets can be to people in the modeling career, to society, and to anyone in a workplace with bigoted views. You are such a good kind person and that’s why we adore this channel. Stay you, stay strong, and I can’t wait to see how far you go. The sky is the limit when you are proud of who you are and have people on your side who appreciate you and your values.

"Conspiracy theories" as media calls them about powerful people in modeling/movie industry preying on people and underage girls, isn't that far fetched Anyone that was or is in a good position either in the movie/modelling industry knows about this, too many coincidences to not be true. We wont go public cus the same reason Alexandria didnt

Because she didn't say something new. Everyone knows, that the fashion industry is that way or even worse, as long as you're not a very famous supermodel. And the movie industry too as well as television. Many attractive girls (an boys too) are forced to sleep with someone to get promoted or at least to keep their jobs. That's terrible, but many people still think, there is easy money and fame there, so they go there anyway.

I was feeling so anxious hearing you talk about the Brazil story. I'm SO sorry you had to go through something like that. Regarding the "healthy" comment, I have to say that you are actually really brave acknowledging that. I was once at a fashion show and a very prestigious casting director called me fat (even though I wasn't there as a model and my weight was no one's business). A model that I was talking to, who probably thought I felt bad about being called fat like that, said that she loved my body and thought I looked great. The casting director laughed and said: well, if you ever look as healthy as she does, don't call me again. And please, do not apologize for not speaking a certain way. If you actually tried to sound "smarter" (whoever says you are not smart because you speak a certain way should shut up), it wouldn't feel as genuine as this video did. Again, you are really brave doing this, because the nepotism models and the supermodels are not going to speak up at all. I wish you the best in your career =)

I'm not a model, i study architecture in college. And this kind of stuff happens here too. I use words like "like" and i like fashion and makeup and other girly things, and because of this, everyone assumes i'm an idiot (i'm in college, if i'm dumb then how did i get in?) like even when i tell people my good grades they're like "really? You?" My "friends" tell me that i should switch to a less challenging course. My teachers always look at me like a "dumb blonde", they're all male so you can imagine how sexist the whole system is. I've also heard stories of professors getting dirty with girls in exchange for good grades. Just thought i'd mention this story to show that these kind of hurtful comments exist in all industries

I get that models are suppose to be thin as part of their job, but the idea that every single model is suppose to look the same is just crazy to me. Like, ok, you had more muscular thighs than a lot of other models. So, your agency should go out and find you jobs where they want girls with muscular thights. Heck, I'm sure a lot of athleticwear brands photoshop muscles on to girls thighs. It's crazy that a response would be "Walk less."

It's not the first time I hear what you said about fashion industry. I know about eight years ago in NZ there was a big movement against all the stuff you have been through. I guess in U.S. it's all like it used to be. I hope you are going to be OK.

I can't believe you're speaking about this on such a gentle note. This is serious stuff and no one should deserved to be treated like this in a professional work environment. Your agency treated you and your friend in such a dehumanising way and I am so glad you were able to not get on that private jet and that you won the law suit. Models are humans too. I feel like the driver might have intentionally taken you to the wrong airport. Either way, I'm so glad he did

So glad you were able to get out of this horrifying situation safely! This was so messed up, agencies just can't guarantee 100% safety and that's wrong..I'm also appalled how models are always last on a list of importance for photoshoots or other jobs..Like most of the time in a magazine when you look at the credits and they have everyone's name listed (photographer, stylist, manicurist, etc) BUT model's! WTF?! And I would say right model is a key to great photos for sure!..not just another "hot blonde"..

I gavey mom a brief summary of this story and she made a comment that I think makes a lot of sense. After I said how lucky it was that the driver made a mistake she goes "Maybe it wasn't a mistake. Maybe he was helping them out." I could totally see that happening, especially if he heard you guys talking about how uncomfortable you were, and the fact that you were able to get out of the car and get your stuff before he "realized" the problem.

I am so thankful for my family loving me and pushing me to focus on my mind and school. All through my childhood people were pushing my mom to put me into modeling or acting and she shielded me from this kind of stuff. I was resentful of them when I was younger because of this. I only dipped my toe into modeling as a teenager. Knowing what I know now, the pettiness, unprofessionalism, and predatory tendencies of the industry turns me off! It’s to be expected, unfortunately. Whenever there is a power disparity and little legal protection there will be opportunists taking advantage. It’s wrong but that’s the whole world. This industry in particular basically grooms girls to accept being an object. A fine line to tread when you are essentially being paid to be looked at. There is almost a disdainful cavalier attitude toward these young models like you can/should live on admiration alone and not have feelings when you are treated like a paper doll. I don’t know where that stems from exactly. Jealousy maybe. Discernment comes with age and experience (something beautiful young girls, with dreams bigger than their common sense, don’t usually have) and it’s a potentially dangerous combination. You are a smart and sweet girl! I hope you have lots of success in your modeling career and life beyond it. 💕

Also many people do not realize this, but the Olympics and things like the superbowl ARE basically a giant human trafficking magnet! The statistics are staggering. You were wise to listen to your gut. Thank God you and your friend were there for each other, or you may have second guessed your instincts

I've always found so weird that agencies feel like they own their model's modies, like you can't die or cut your hair or change anything about your appearance, workout, or eat however you like, have pictures taken by other people and so much more, it's just so dehumanizing.

Thank you for making this video. As someone who has PTSD and anxiety issues, on top of being an INFP personality in general, I can relate to a lot of what you went through even though it happened in different aspects of the entertainment/media industry so thank you once again for sharing. The more people know about what happens to you and in general the horror stories that happen the less power they have in general to rule our lives. And thank you for reminding us we're never alone! Keep up the good work! Peace and love from the NORMALLY frozen great white north, although last week I survive the fatal Pacific Northwest heat wave that killed a few hundred citizens and kept me in bed in front of fans for 8 days straight. ;-)

Thank you so much for speaking up Alexandria. Slowly but surely, models start to talk about the way fashion industry can exploit them sometimes, use them like they were just lifeless dolls and the whole pressure it creates on self-confidence and body image. Your story highlights a very dark side of modelling (just as the stories about eating disorders it can bring out) and to me, it points out two facts : it is an industry, so its goal is to make money and, it seems, at any cost. And two, it seems pretty misogynist and patriarchal. They want you (us, I speak here as a woman, not a professional model) to be gentle princesses. But we will be warriors. Take care xoxo.

That's the downside of being reall attractive and successful. People try to use you and take advantage of you as a status symbol rather than liking you for your individual self. That guy who said they can always just get another hot blonde sounds to me like he was always chasing after those "hot" girls and now that he has some power over them he uses it as revenge

You are a brave, strong, intelligent and intuitive woman and good that you and your friend listen to your stomach, telling something is wrong. The stomach never lies, and it felt weird from the getgo, and you handled everything so good and you took care of yourself. Never doubt yourself when it comes to your feelings, its your life and you are free to make your decisions just the way you want it. And the anxiety thing, I can so relate. Its almost like one overcompensate for the anxiety and one think like everything is like just "regular" anxiety and just needs to be breathe through but it happens to be that your body is signalizing and telling you something is off and its hard to know the difference sometimes. But good that you are safe and I wish you the best!

You are brave and sweet ! women in their 20's are still naive . Thinking about things I did in this age - I am so lucky nothing bad happened . It is very important that you have made this video as a wake up call to other women in the modeling industry and not only - also women in general. I think the other model should also tell the story, I think you should go to the police . what huppened there was clearly criminal , this agency should be investigated

Several years ago, there was a documentary on new models. They'd all moved to New York at the same time and came from everywhere. What they went through behind the scenes was definitely low key abusive. They would get conflicting instructions from different people at the agency, continual criticism, and they had their looks insulted on a regular basis is they didn't fit the job. It looked anything but fun.

You were absolutely right to refuse to go to the private airport. Your instincts were right on the money. The model agency should never have put you in that situation, and the fact that they wanted you to agree to a shady job is a sign that they only cared about the payoff and didn't care about you as a person. It must have taken a lot of courage for you to speak out--you have integrity.
