Alexandrov Ensemble - Echelon Song Эшелонная 1960s

The Alexandrov Ensemble sings the Echelon Song (Эшелонная) , conducted by Boris Alexandrovich Alexandrov. Date of recording unknown; probably 1960s-1970s.
It's a song of soldiers who go to the front on a train. They remember their noble and brave battles under the command of Marshal Voroshilov. So it's also a revolutionary song. An alternative name for this song is "The Song About Voroshilov". Voroshilov was high-ranked Soviet Marshal who was famous during the Revolution and later during the WW2 and was also a brother-in-arms of Stalin. More about Voroshilov on Wikipedia:

"What they actually sing is not "На бугре и в волчьей яме", but "и не осушить ветрами". The translation, then, will be "and the wind won't dry it out", rather than "on the mound and in the pit".

The photograph is of The locomotive Sherwood Forrester, taken on 27 August 2007 between Harrogate and Leeds. It was running late as the Scarborough Spa Express, and was really racketing along.
To take a photo like this I had to lie on the ground less than a yard from the rail. Due to the speed of the train and only getting one shot on each occasion, I had to do this several times to get the shot framed correctly. Luckily the wheels didn't throw sparks or stones. I'm happy with the blurring, as it's all about movement.

The recording I have (remastered by FGL Productions) "slows down" a bit after the train reaches "full throttle," but this train keeps running at high speed - I like it!

You couldn't find a picture of a locomotive without a big placard saying "The Scarborough 8PM Express" on it? Hard to imagine it's a Russian locomotive. Doesn't even look Russian, and the song is about railway warfare in the Civil War.
