Emily asked how they got together and I actually have an answer for that! They're the udmurtian folk band, and they existed for over 45 years in their hometown Buranovo, like an activity for women around 70 y/, they were singing traditional songs, and in 2008 they started doing covers of popular songs in Udmurtian language. Got on a news, got popular and went to Eurovision.

People adore the grannies, it's not actually the song that they voted for, it's the grannies themselves that captured everyone's heart and they voted for them, I kind of agree that 2nd is (a bit) too high.
