He bought that tune for sound and attention, then uploaded a video trying to show the fanboys that his car is really good, even if that tune downgraded the performance realistically. The amount of new sport and super cars that don’t come in manual just makes me sad. Edit: Manual to me means 3 pedals, so paddle shifters don’t count. I know autos and especially double clutch trans will shift faster than anyone, even Randy Pobst. But.. hundredths and tenths of seconds don’t mean anything to me while driving around. Yeah, I watched the video and he had to use a windows XP OS system to access it. Also, he went through 2 interfaces before finding one that worked. Watching them tune that car was interesting. His Gallardo is a 2008 with a built engine capable of 1600 HP. He added the turbos afterwards. They could only tune about 900 ish. Here is my opinion, fuck that 16,000 bullshit, better run Crysis at 24k resolution.

The people he took his car to dont even know how to use syvex. Syvex is top of the line but most tuners stay away from it because its complicated. A syvex ecu for a ford focus costs 5 grand. Of course a Lamborghini is going to be more.

@@Battlemaul123 Well, straight pipes have always been popular with hot rodders but that was to increase power. Back in high school (early 80's) I had a second generation Camaro with a 454. I had Glasspacks on that. lol It was more than loud enough but that was to reduce back pressure. I also had a big cam in it which made some people think it wasn't idling correctly. lol One time I was at a light and a guy in a Corvette pulled up and said "poor little girl can't adjust her carbs" The light turned green and I roasted him. It was funny. Early 80's vettes were really slow. Emissions killed them and my Camaro was pretty quick for the 80's. Laughable by today's standards. I was lucky if it was putting out 55 horsepower per liter but It was 7.4 liters so it was fast for a street car in the 80's. This crusty old lady gets loud but not just for the sake of being loud. Well, unless it's Iron Maiden. In that case, crank it up. :)

Bullshit, some of the Wrc rallycars use syvecs.Thing is that Motec has made ecu's for streetcars longer time and therefore are more known. Syvecs are quite new. Motec and syvecs are quite equal when it comes to functions and user ability but as I wrote motec has been in that business much longer and are much bigger in US. If you go to UK syvecs are bigger. I have used both motec and syvecs and in my opinion syvecs are better and has greater functions. By the way there are lot of Lamborghinis and gtr's using syvecs. Don't write a lot of false shit if you don't know anything, which you aviouly don't do!!!

Anyways, manufacturers tune their cars to be as reliable as possible from factory. Anytime you increase power and responsiveness you are going to lose reliability and efficiency. Most the time a base tune can increase some power without effecting reliability much. The problem is most these guys go way over the top adding hundreds of horsepower and purposely tuning the car to be as loud and obnoxious as possible.

If you dump fuel into the exhaust before the turbo and tune it right you will get a spool surge for a short period and help build boost faster. There is a threshold though, therefore you can't get much of a benefit. Beyond a certain point it will be a negative thing, especially if you want to throw flames.

its not though. the engine is basically rich to the point theres no more oxygen left to burn fuel, so until it mixes with more oxygen near the exhaust outlet it wont burn, most cars the egt has dropped to a point where theres not enough heat left ignite the mixture, on short exhausts or in forced induction this isnt the case, so we get large bangs every time this happens. most cars/fuel controllers have whats called fuel cut on decel so it nearly or completely drops all fuel flow in that condition, many aftermarket fuel controllers will allows because it helps with engine response the next time the throttle is opened, it also keeps more heat in the exhaust system allowing for less turbo lag.
