It is so refreshing to hear Alexei Sayle's frank assessment of Keir Starmer and the establishment. History (when told truthfully) will be harshly critical of the British Labour Party and this era of revolting actors who organised the annihilation of Jeremy Corbyn. The right wing neo liberal philosophy over the last 40 years has completely overtaken the BLP and has culminated in the appointment of Keir Starmer. Enjoyable interview.

Alexei not only summarises so well why the Starmer (and Blairite) leadership is so odious, but also why so many middle-of-the-road voters also act surprised when you point this out to them. It's the disease of centrism to come along in the disguise of warming, lovely liberal values, when the damage it does is anything but that. Those voters can't see past all the flags they've jammed into their social media profiles, to notice what's actually happening. @sock Well, I'll have a go. He's colluded with the Tory government, either directly, or by being too scared of focus groups and Murdoch to offer a direct opposition. Blairites - of which I suspect you are one - constantly contradict themselves. In one breath, they assert that Labour is "not a protest party". Yet, in another, they (literally) protest "do you want 4 more years of the Tories?". Weirdos. Gaslighting, venal centrists only appear to be "winning" because the Tories continue to drop the ball, and are fighting amongst themselves. When that streak ends, Nu Nu Labour will realise they have not seeded the ground enough. It's all pretty simple. Don't chirp on about "the hard Left", then complain when voters desert you, because you were unwilling to offer them the radical solutions they needed.

Why do you not see comedians ripping Keir Starmer on Legacy MSM (when Corbyn was ripped to shreds constantly), there's few people that have so much comedic content value attached to them? The answer: 'Greater Apartheid' Comedians are living in FEAR, 'separated' from considering normal comedic material, afraid to use their speech/rights, persecuted to various levels, victims of 'Greater Apartheid', they've seen what's happened to Corbyn etc's careers, and naturally can't afford their careers to go the same way. In Ukraine the Nazis don't need to have a position in government, they have veto by violence, and by this point they don't need to do violence anymore as they've shown what they're capable of. I saw Alexei Sayle’s standup twice, once in London, another in Perth, Western Australia, the former at the height of his powers, the second when he was seemingly falling out of love with standup. A very funny bloke. It felt marvellous to hearing an articulate, angry working class individual speaking insolent truth to a range of targets including the execrable Thatcher. Some of the anger seems to have diminished over time and I found some of this interview a bit self-serving - e.g. I couldn’t care less who ‘created’ alternative comedy, or Sayle’s legacy. The incessant ‘you knows’ was also irritating but nonetheless his rented diatribe against Keef Sturmer was commendable.

in my humble opinion, Alexi is possibly the most important satirist that this country has ever produced.

Anyone know the title and author of the book about Starmer that Alexei cites?

I'm 70. I would never vote Conservative, but now I can't vote Labour, I live in Wales and the 'devolved 'Labour party here does have a social context, but I can't vote for it with Sir Keir at the lead, given what he's done. So I'll vote Plaid Cymru. If Jeremy Corbyn were to head up a new party (New Labour - Ha Ha), I'd certainly put my hand in my pocket to help fund it and voting would be a joy. :) :)

How about Dr. Bob Gill to stand against Keith? All the nhs would vote for him….I’d move to vote for him. Barb

The Music Industry is the same- look at Glastonbury. 4 years ago Corbyn was on stage, and now we had an airing of the new Corbyn film pulled by the organisers, and it was shown by dissenters "London Reel" in a tent to about 80 people. The anti-defamation league contacted them- as they are doing right now with others around the country, even down to village halls and pubs. Efforts to pull this involve the 007 wannabe Paul Mason, whose emails supplying information on "Corbyn networks" were exposed by the Grayzone.

Though you'd hope that mainstream Labour supporters would have abundant reason to be critical and distrustful of the Establishment, it seems actually they'd rather not go there. They lean towards the Establishment and the "English trimmings" that go with it, sensing it as benign, quirky and reassuring rather than, as I do, suffocating, calculating and disempowering. Hence when Sir K gives off his Establishment vibes they're quietly pleased. In short, England is very conservative.
