Brother take one week and learn the caged system and the mystery vanishes...NO BS....there are plenty of caged courses on youtube...stitch explains it well This song is based on a G Major/minor scale...caged narrows down your choices to a few notes..

@@skip777 Thanks for your comments and I have studied the Caged system and C stands for the open C chord formation moveable up the neck and A for the open A chord and G ope G chord and E and D also the open chords as the rest moved up and down the neck. So you are saying that most of the notes of any song will be in one of those caged positions

@@erwinerwin1245 This song is mostly based around the first position of the G minor pentatonic with a few major notes and the blues note added too. Srv also uses the BB box (search this on YT). You'll understand how this is constructed on no time. Still a genius guitarist though.

Once u learn a few Albert or srv songs the licks start to pop out… I still use a tab to mail it 🤷‍♂️
