The “MOVE” with the mini breakdown before the second verse, and the OH, OH in the main breakdown are just perfect, really finish the song off

Yes! It was so reminiscent of their older song "Tell Slater Not to Wash his Dick" around the 2-minute mark I think. It has the same pause, "Move", then breakdown. I love it.

I don't think you can say that BMTH are in any genre anymore. They're simply a fucking experience. The way they mix their old and new stuff and tweak it and get creative with it, it's mindblowing. Oli is a musical genius, and that chorus buildup is going to floor me live. What's most impressive about this is that Oli edited the video himself.

Parasite Eve is a really interesting IP too. Based off a novel it comes up with the idea that mitochondria share a sort of hive mind and then start taking over people and causing spontaneous combustion. The whole idea of an enemy in your body that you can't see but could kill you at any point, plus mega body horror, it's just great.

From what I heard in the docu-vids they did a good amount of editing on his screams to get the final result. His rough cleans are great, but his screams in the breakdown were disappointing to me. Oli really needs to take the time to learn how to scream properly cause given today's vocalist level he's less than average, just has a recognizable voice.

The true answer to the question of remembering the lesson is that the lesson was never learned to begin with. Sure, we're doing things now, but the moment things look somewhat familiar again, this is all gonna be brushed under the rug. This is not the first time this has happened to humanity and it most certainly will not be the last.

My favorite line from this song is “When all the king’s horses and all the king’s friends don’t know their asses from their pathogens” and it’s such an amazing critique of government reactions and the chaos that ensued with how some countries handled corona by just brushing it off and saying stuff that wasn’t true that’s led us to this point. It’s also just such a good line.

That synth part is very reminiscent of track on the Parasite Eve OST. The game revolves around the mitichondria in our cells becoming self aware and rebelling against us after a woman becomes possesed by the mitochondria, and is able to manipulate the mitochondria in the living beings around her, turning some into monsters while incinerateing others. Eve has a double meaning in the title as the main villian is Mitochondria Eve (as in Adam and Eve) and it also happens around christhmas Eve.

That cgi of animals splitting in half to mutate in PE1 reminds me of their masks. That line before the drop that sounds a lot like line from Humpty Dumpty where the king couldn't figure out how to fix things. Nicely put.

I've been a bmth fan for years now and I love what they are doing. It's like a pop vibe with a touch of the old them from like you know back when they started to sempiternal and then recent years with that's the spirit and amo and it's just awesome how they are combining the two genres. Oli Sykes is so talented on so many levels.

Fun Fact:"Parasite Eve" and John Carpenter`s "The Thing" were influences for the original JENOVA concept in "FFVII"(Which changed multiple times due to budgetary constraints, retcons and creative differences).

When you mentioned how people didn't understand the full magnitude of covid-19 , I had a personal scare around it at the beginning of March. That, plus one of Tim Ferriss' podcasts released at the beginning of March, drove it home for me that this virus is something to take seriously. And damn, what a powerful song.

It was a little too much screamo for me. I absolutely love music that can find the happy medium between singing and screaming though! If you could point me in the direction of songs like that, For example... Of Mice and Men, I would be forever thankful!!

You really need to check out The Chariot - The City! A crazy chaotic hardcore band! They were friends with BMTH, have toured together in the past, Josh (The Chariot's vocalist) is on the BMTH song "The Fox And the Wolf", and Stevis (The Chariot's guitarist, now in Fever 333, another band worth checking out), filled in for them on bass on Jimmy Falon (and possibly some tour dates, but not 100% sure on that) while Vegan was at home with his new child.
