His only real issue is his skating. He looks avg speed wise. That can be worked on, he wont ever be elite like McDavid but he can get to a stage below that. He is super young so , build up thigh strength and take power skating classes. His hands are Elite. Those in close backhand goals are sick and the couple goals where he was going around the net only to pull it back and go shortside, very few players can do that. Based on the eye test. He should be a 60-80 pt scorer
@matt39383 жыл бұрын
are you lafs burner? i agree with you but he always says "for sure"
@JamesFitz83 жыл бұрын
@@beezer5623 May I ask why he will never be elite? I never played hockey so I could be very wrong here, but didn't McDavid only have 16 goals his first season? 4 more then Laf? Like I said I am not trying to argue just genuinely interested?
@beezer56233 жыл бұрын
@@JamesFitz8 Mcdavid only played half a season. Maybe 9 less games than Lafi I think, plus he had like 30 assists or so. Just keep in mind when I say elite I’m talking a level like McDavid. I think Lafi will be a great player for sure, he has the skill to be a 60-70 pt player. It’s hard to describe what I’m talking about but as an example, when you watch Adam Fox on the ice, you can see he is playing on another level. He has this vision not many players have. He makes little subtle moves at the blue line to fake out defenders to keep the puck in the offensive zone. His hand eye coordination is insane at times batting pucks down at the blue line to keep it in the zone. Maybe never is a harsh word cause he is super young. But he needs to get quicker and faster. Also didn’t see to much skating with the puck through the neutral zone dictating play. Here is what is a wildcard with him. He didn’t have any real training camp to get ready, he has plenty of time to get stronger especially in his legs. Also, Quinn was a mess with the lines this year some his fault some because of injuries etc.. so Lafi didn’t have a lot of stability on that front.

Did you watch the preseason game last night against Boston? Blais was a monster. Kids got talent and balls to boot. I think we’re going to be okay cuz that dude is in our bottom 6. It’s a luxury to have someone like that low on the depth chart. Buchnevich’s scoring touch will be missed though...until Kakko takes that 1RW spot for good. KK is in a class of his own, a class not even LaF comes close to...
