I had a similar situation with cakes..I brought sample cupcakes for half off the original price to try out. She didn't want to pay me because she supposedly (after eating ALL 6) she didn't like any of them. I had to tell her that payment isn't based on taste but on product delivery...she didn't even want to pay my transportation that we agreed upon it. So I sat down in her living room and started calling the police. SHe threw out the cupcake box saying there is no proof of product and i showed her pictures of me making them..bringing them over..in front of her door...at her table..and her eating them. That it is considered theft if she doesn't pay. So she threw the money at me and grabbed me to kick me out. I had to tell her to be careful cause assault is also illegal, and i gave her my meanest "im that crazy bitch your family warned you about" look lol so she let me go and told me i wont be working in manhattan ever again like lol bitch you live in the projects you can't even pay half off cupcakes you don't have the power for all that now HAHAHAHAHA

Coming from a licensed esthetician, I say bare minimum $75.00 for makeup. The client should also have to pay for traveling fees if they want the makeup artist to go to their site. Of course make up artists sometimes offer discounts for a bridal party. $25 dollar is super cheap for makeup.

The worst part about offering a service is everyone and their mama expecting you to do their makeup for free. You do the traveling, you pay for the product, and they pay nothing. It’s insane. I stopped doing freelance work because i got sick of arguing with people just to be paid. Sad because i spent a lot of money to go to makeup school. I had people steal my stuff too, kids getting in the way, clients complain about the time but being on their phone the whole time. People just don’t know how to act.

Girl my story time when I first did makeup to family was horrible, I wasn't bad always stuck to neutral looks. I got compliments on my makeup well I did makeup for a wedding to a family member I used the colors they requested, she said after I was done that they liked it. I didn't charge them. Omg that's crazy. I had family talk so much about how I do make up and all that and I apply it wrong or put to much and blah blah but then the same people kept asking me can you do my make up please lol or will ask me how does my make up look and it would look horrible and I would be like oh it's so good lol and let them go out like that. One of the people who talk so much even told me the other day oh I want you to do my make up for my wedding but they said and I can get the family discount 🙄 I just laughed it off no no no I won't be doing her make up lol 🤣
