Also in regards to this video, yeah it’s a girl who goes to school, but the interactions were something to learn from. Especially as an adolescent. This show was about Chase overcoming his fear to tell Zoey how much she meant to him. It was about Quinn becoming more confident in herself aside from her intellect. It was about Logan embracing his intellect and to stop being insecure about it; his attraction doesn’t have to be solely physical. These are just some examples. Some kids are blessed with a loving family who helps them with confidence, while others need to learn about it on their own. This is what this show did for me.

Alright so this is a Zoey 101 appreciation post, and how it changed my life weirdly enough. I realize now how even as an adolescent, I took even the simplest things and put meaning behind them. Zoey 101 literally helped me break through social anxiety as a kid. I lost my mom when I was almost 12, and it was a hard time for me to have friends because she was really the only one who would drive me to after school activities/friend’s houses. My dad was always working, kind of abusive, and my older teenage brother would abuse me. It’s like he needed to be in control of me. As far as my father who really never knew me, I knew there was something off about my dad’s morals as to what I could wear. He sexualized makeup and clothing. I used to be bullied a lot for my clothes (plain and I was always covered up), and for being quiet. I wasn’t really allowed to have friends unless I could ride my bike to them, but I lived in the middle of no where and I had about 2 friends I could bike to. Middle school was really rough for me. I was so inspired by Zoey’s outfits and how outgoing she was, and watching the show helped me change my aesthetic, find my own style of clothing/hair, and become more bubbly and make more friends. I became confident entering high school after watching the show. Although I couldn’t really hang out with many friends, people wanted to get to know me. That was the first step in me breaking free. Now I dance in front of crowds and wear my art without a care in the world. Sounds drawn out but it all started with this show.

hungry giraffe It means it’s bad writing, the character is unable to mess up and everyone loves her. Zoey not being flawed means she is too perfect. No human is able to find every situation, and be loved by every person she meets. Zoe is the main character, her purpose should be more than solving things. The main character is meant to be relatable not a perfect character with only one purpose.

Zoey 101 makes me feel nostalgic for a time I wish I could have enjoyed more. Being born in 2001 I witnessed the early 2000s as a child and couldn't properly grasp what an amazing time it actually was. While drake and Josh is also from the same time, Zoey 101 embodies the culture of the early 2000s much better. The Fashion, the humor, the lifestyle, how society was, Mp3 players, Ghetto Blasters, flip phones and everything being super colorful. If you take away 9/11 the early 2000s were such a chill and carefree time. The show has kinda developed an unintentional political statement for me. With the show having concluded in May 2nd 2008 when the series finale first aired, it narrowly avoided the financial crisis that struck us later that year. The financial crisis and its following global recession (which the world never fully recovered from) really turned our society grey and hostile. And Zoey 101 manifests the great and carefree time we had before the financial crisis changed our lives forever, mostly for the worse. It's like a last hurray and I get really emotional and depressed when I watch Zoey 101 as it makes me long for those years of the early 2000s that I could never fully appreciate at that time because of how young I wass

This was a secret pleasure of mine back in the day. Yeah, it wasn’t all that good, but the girls were cute and the whole show wasn’t as mean spirited as some of the shows that came later, like victorious. There was an innocence to it. I still listen to the theme song every so often.

Idk the way they treated Quinn and Stacey was pretty mean spirited

I remember that the appeal of this show for me as a kid was that all the kids had a lot of freedom... like college freedom (dorm parties, riding vespas, walking around campus to get to classes) it’s like kids in college basically.

Boarding schools are not like this in the US either. They almost exclusively require uniforms during school hours too.

I had a friend who went to an academy which was on a college campus that was more like this, then in college made a friend who was a day student at a boarding school. They are more like this in the us

I thought the same thing, but it was shot on a college campus so this isn't surprising. In retrospect, it seems very California to me lol

The guy who played Dustin likes to remind people that he was in the show

It's a little simplistic to say that shows back then where "about nothing". Like the point of Zoey 101 was that they are at a boarding school with no parents around and teachers basically letting them run wild (iirc) so it's the allure of a show about college but aimed at young teens. And One Tree Hill was about people never getting out of their boring little town and everyone having history with each other (e.g. Dan knocking up two different women around the same time) and the drama that gets caused by this.

the thing in Zoey 101 was definitely PCA, that campus was my dream High School (even now I'm about to finish college and still wanted to study somewhere like that). And since I'm not American, I thought actual boarding high schools in US were like that
