The Shadow 80 - My Thoughts

Shadow 80. This is a board from the same designer as the Capsule and it's lovely! It's soft even with an alu plate, and sounds pretty good. It does have some issues with the prototype unit. The issue being that the tolerance of the mid accent is incorrect, which will be fixed. Aesthetically it's really fun, but I do not like the heavy branding on this particular version. You however can get the parts with less branding on them.
I also took a look at the glacier 80 the same week and wanted to showcase it here as well.

Yeah it misses on the branding for me too, but I actually think the top and bottom accents are very fun, same with the side profile. It's preference really!

I usually don't care too much about logos on the back since it's out of sight. The Shadow badge is an eyesore though and a dealbreaker, I would not be able to stand looking at that. Both font options aren't great. With that price, I can't imagine choosing this over all the great TKL options.

Killer video as always! I feel the alphas are fire on this build, but the spacebar sounds like a top-mount to me, which is pretty lackluster IMO. I would still get this IF there was an option without the branding.

Hello Alex, I’ve been watching your videos from years ago and I always enjoy to see how you are deeply engaged with this culture. I think you are always trying to be honest with your comments about the keyboards as possible. I have some issues and some worries that I want to share. So after watching your rama m65-b videos. I decided to purchase the later version which is m65-c because I thought it would be a great choice for me and it was a big consumption for me. It was around the end of 2021. However, I haven’t seen any updates since this year and I can’t find any ways to reach them. I always get the automated replies from them. I know rama usually takes long but I feel like this time might be a real scam. I know it’s not your respinsiblity but could you mention this issue so they don’t ignore us? I think you have enough influence that we can at least show them that we take this issue seriously. By the way I ordered from south korea and I see many korean keyboards fans who are experiencing the same issue. I am seriously thinking whether I should go see local lawyers if we can do anything about it….

Hey sang, the items I purchased from Rama were at my own expense as well and I also just was not happy with my experience. I even have one final product I ordered from them called the Zenith which came in the wrong color and I just don’t have the heart to build it. I’m sorry to hear about the delays with Rama, that brand is just robbing the hobby at this point, which is sad because I use to love their designs and it was part of what got me interested in keyboards. No amount of influence can sadly shape or change how they operate and if you can I would either get a refund or talk to your credit card company about a charge back.
