I have a question about those little cameras if your making a right turn will that camera dedect what's in front of you and put it on the screen on the dash? Its the most annoying thing to do (if it is) If I'm making a turn I don't want to be distracted on what I got pulled up on the dash screen instead of watching the road myself.

I have a 23' Forester Touring. I don't think it's that different over all. I like some things but I really don't like the grill and the rear hatch. I would probably like the steering improvement and the interior is a mixed bag.

am looking at buying one and I think the same but I think I found why they city-ized it, in Switzerland there's little to no hobby off-road here the only people buying foresters are the ones that need them farmers, wildlife agents people living in mountains a "redneck" car if you want most others drive luxury "city" suvs I believe Subaru is trying to appeal to them

I have been thinking a 2025 Touring and your video solidified that. The Sport does look good but I am a big fan of the Harmon Kardon system, etc. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. The 2024 model year Crosstrek just received an update that added the larger 11.6" infotainment, updates seats, insulation and more. The Forester was the last of the Subaru's to move to the latest design. Looks like a nice redesign. Im not a fan of the huge screen though. Needing to take eyes off the road is something automakers need to really focus on. We need less distractions while driving....not more

NEVER buy the first Year or 2 of a complete Redesigned vehicle, no matter what vehicle brand name, because the bugs need to get fixed and worked out. Subaru is known for taking its time to fix problems so I’d wait until at least the 3rd or perhaps the 4th year of a completely redesigned vehicle. Toyota has the same problems with the RAV4. The 02, 13 & 14, and the 19 RAV4’s had issues, so costing thousands of dollars to fix, so it’s not just Subaru.

When will the build sheets and brochure be available? Some colors I like; some I can't live with. Some features I need, some I can do without. Will they all come together at a certain trim level? Where I live in the Deep South, I'm not interested in Subarus for off-roading or wilderness treking but ground clearance in flooded roads. But in this climate, I crave cool colors, aspirated seats, and Harmon Kardon sound.

Having spent some time on Subi forums and message boards, the actual updates are what a lot of potential Forester owners wanted... Bigger touch screen, 360 display, smart mirror, wireless charging and carplay. The also addressed one annoyance I had, which was the placement of the cup holders. The "Adventure" stencel and logos are something I roll mey eyes at, but short of that, this seems like a swing in the right direction for the Forester. I'm curious how well the hybrid will perform. From memory, the Crostrek is the only hybrid they'd had thus far.

Hi Alex, can we assume there will be no wilderness for the Forester 2025? Many (me included) were expecting an announcement at the Chicago autoshow last week (as it happened with the Crosstrek wilderness2024 last year) but we got nothing, do you know anything? Word on the street is that the wilderness trim will be discontinued for the 2025 model year, but not official info.

The kick open rear hatch is a downgrade. The Outback system that has a sensor in the star logo is much better. AND it doesn't interfere with the tow hitch.

It’s like all other SUVs now. It looks like they took something unique and made it the same as many other vehicles 😕. I’ll wait and see how people regard it after use. But I’m a little sad. I liked Subaru styling until the last 2 years. Now it is boring and ugly. And easter eggs? Really? Subaru, why don't you put your effort into designing a car that looks good and handles really well and not into some goofy imprints on the plastic. Wow. 1. Yes, the similarity to the Ford Explorer is uncanny and not particularly desirable. 2. Still no 6-cylinder and not particularly interested in more turbo lag on XT+ trims. Although, I will reserve judgement on hybrids. 3. The relentless and overwhelming manufacturer push to touchscreens needs to stop. Why remove a perfectly-functional, 0-lag button?

It does not. The Legacy, Outback, and Ascent all have an eyesight assist monitor though. It just lights up red, yellow, or green when the adaptive cruise, emergency braking, or lane centering are on

As long as they keep that boxer engine/symmetrical AWD design which makes the engine sit in front of the front axle, their vehicles will always have that hideous, long front overhang.

I own a 2023 Forester Wilderness, which is the same as the 2024. I HATE the 2025 redesign!! Why glossy black on the grill and mirrors? It smudges and scratches. 🤦 Even the seats are less attractive with that indent all the way down the middle?! And the fact that more and more controls are buried in the infotainment center doesn't speak well for safety in my opinion. Leave the physical knobs and buttons please. Sorry Subaru, but your previous models had much more personality and a unique look. This looks like a mini 2015 Ford Explorer. What the heck?

People won't like that StarTex interior when it gets hot. Even leather interiors get hot, nothing like sitting down in your car while wearing shorts and getting second degree burns on your thighs. Ever since I purchased my first car with cloth interior in the 1980s I have never gone back to vinyl, or leather. It my be 'easy to clean' but it doesn't have the same comfort as cloth.

I also don't care for the huge iPad style screen where there aren't any knobs. I have a friend who is holding off for the 2025, but he wan'ts the Wilderness. I am looking forward to seeing what Subaru does with it.

I don't know why manufacturers want to completely get rid of knobs, I like to be able to keep my eyes on the road and make setting changes by feel. Plus, if that screen ever has an issue, how the hell are you supposed to operate half the features of the car. LoL

Obviously not a deal breaker since physical media is almost dead, but I did buy a handful of Pearl Jam albums to play. 🤣 I have a 2023 Forester Wilderness I bought in fall of 2023. I think this last gen looks nicer than 2025 and apparently it's the last line of knobs and switches. I HATE how digital all the newer vehicles are going. Physical knobs, buttons, and gauges are just more practical while operating a vehicle.

I do have a question about a video you did in the past. I don't know if you can show the video on how to program the button on the tailgate that can unlock the vehicle without having the key fob. You're welcome! The additional 3rd camera adds a wider field of view for the auto braking system. And the software has been updated for better detection of pedestrians/cyclists.

It's fantastic that Subaru is continuing to use the raised roof rails on the Forrester. These rails are much better for frequent and high capacity use than the integrated plastic rails on the Outback.

Nabbed a 2024 Forester Touring, it’s amazing to me the size is unchanged since the exterior of this one presents as so much more squared/tough! Happy with the sound dampening and comfort I got, but I’m glad to see they’re looking for ways to keep edging up into a more premium-seeking market.

1st time I hear about the rear view mirror camera thing thanks I'll probably wait for the 2025 the 360 camera removes the need for the front detectors which is a pricey option, one that no car in stock has either (no wilderness here so no front camera either only outbacks have it)

Great video. The 360 camera is long overdue and a welcome addition, as are the updated storage areas near the shifter. The lack of physical buttons was a terrible idea. I know that’s the direction Subaru is going but it seems consumer (and reviewer) feedback on this decision has fallen on deaf ears. People prefer actual dials and buttons. For me, the real dealbreaker with the 2025 model is that the front looks like a Ford. I can’t get past that.

Subaru needs to make the digital rear view mirror an option across the line outside the Touring trim. Love it on my OB XT Touring, but would love to get it without going to a top trim in my next car. Though, if it's all wired the same... in theory one could ask the parts counter to order the antenna and mirror.
