I Flew Porter's INAUGURAL Embraer E2 Flight!

On February 1st, Porter launched commercial flights with their brand-new Embraer E195-E2s, and their very first flight was a short hop from Toronto-Pearson to Ottawa!
As the North American launch customer, this was also the very first commercial E2 flight in North America. This is also a pretty big deal for Porter, as it marks the start of a very rapid expansion.

The "misaligned" windows are actually a choice by the airline. If all rows have a pitch of 32", they'll be aligned throughout.

That same "whale moan" can be heard when the plane is about to land. I live not far from an airport and it's very easy to tell when an E2 is landing or taking off.

They’re actually quieter than the Q400’s they currently fly, even though an expansion project at YTZ was ruled out by Transport Canada because these aircraft were apparently “too noisy”. Sad they can’t fly out of YTZ but I’m glad they’re expanding!

I LOVE the Embraer 195, got to fly on Aurigny's one and it was so nice. Porter's product looks great too. I'd expect it to be good as it's new and I hope they keep it up and do well!

The meals are awesome! Seats are comfy with good quality material and headrests that not only change height but also fold in; no neck pillow? No problem! Spacious and quiet cabin during flight, Embraer has fantastic aircraft. Porter definitely isn't the tiny kid on the playground anymore.

Oh woah super impressive Porter! I admit I was a little angry at them for choosing the E series over the a220 as a Canadian airline but considering their shorter haul model and 2-2 configuration which I love I can see there was no reason to buy a more expensive aircraft.

I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of this beautiful plane at YYZ on Thursday evening last week when it taxied into the boarding gate right to next the gate where I was waiting for my flight. Didn't know that it was just it's second day ending in service. Feels like I watched the second day second show of a newly released movie in cinema. I have flown with Porter on their Dash-8 before, and needless to say, I simply love them as an airline. Can't wait to fly on the E2 soon hopefully. :)

I was on the YUL flight after yours. There were ceremonies but in the main hall of the terminal not at the gate. And it started at 6:45a instead of the 6a time it was supposed to. Similar issue with drinks service on all four flights I took that day. Did YOW return in the afternoon ($1 fares). They need two carts, starting at the front and mid-cabin. And remember this jet is faster than the Q400s they’re used to.
