These videos where you improve on one of your students idea and fix mistakes are truly eye opening. The 10-15 minute length is perfect for going over every element and the comparison makes it clear to understand that you are not pulling the final sound out of your hat. It's an iteration on many little things. Please keep this format.

You highlighted the most important thing which is selecting the right sounds right from the start. Great video.
@AlexRome9 сағат бұрын
Yes for the most part. You have to spend the time picking good sounds and then a lot more time making those sounds fit into your song with strong processing.

I think a cool take away for this student is that his core song idea was solid! He just lacked the experience to bring it to life, but that's a skill you can learn with time and study.

100% mate, it's a world of difference after Alex put his stamp on it, i always wondered why my music always sounded so dead and lifeless but now I'm understanding that music dynamics and changing sound over time is a critical part of music making. Thanks Alex Rome you're my Hero ❤
@AlexRomeКүн бұрын
that's right. most less experienced producers are actually quite good at writing melodies and chord etc. the challenge is getting the sounds right and balancing them with the other instruments and also using the right amount of processing on these instruments to make them sound good.

I’m taking your course now as a beginner and it’s exactly what i needed to commit. The fundamentals explained clearly because noise distracts me. Its been such a help i had to come comment because when i was considering it i saw loads of negative thoughts on reddit. I think it’s a great place to start after months of KZbin overstimulation. Thank you Alex!!

Alex is a great teacher, he can dumb down and simplify things and make simple ideas great. His videos popped into my YT feed when I first started producing and have helped me a ton with my production. Especially if you are a beginner and want to grow as a producer, I highly recommend signing up for his course. (No, he did not pay me to say this lol)

Hi! I also started self teaching on making beats. The program I use is called FL Studio. After watching this video, I find it very helpful, interesting, and unique on how you made the song sound much better. Right now I’m working on my first beat and the genre is rap. Any advice on how to add bass to the song and what BPM I should use? Thanks! And keep up the great work!❤❤❤❤❤❤

Alex, thanks for sharing with us your work. It is very satisfied to watch. But one thing is really bothering me. Once i make exactly same steps like you around 1:25 (pluck sound) in serum. My delay sounds very weak compared to your delay on video. What could be the reason ? Do you have already attached some kind of plugins or hardware which can a bit change sound ?

Hey I don't know if there's any chance you'll see this, but do you have any recommended channels that you think are really good in other genres? I think you're the best teacher I've found on KZbin but sometimes there's sounds I want to learn how to make that you don't cover because you make EDM and that's not really the genre I want to make! I really wanna learn how to make electropop in particular, as well as maybe some kind of hip housey type of thing. If you've by any chance heard of Magdalena Bay or Azalea Banks those are some of the artists I take most inspiration from. Or if you have any videos you've made that you think are relevant to this type of music that'd be great too! Thanks :) Edit: I also just realize I really like Chappell Roan so that's a more well known artist that I want to make music by :)

preciate your videos.... but the original had a very different vibe.. it had its headnodd vibes with a tiny spice ofoddnes with the off drum loop it became a different song... would be very courious how to sound "professionell" while keeping the original vibe, i know takes much more time and work but would be a very interesting content to watch
@charliezunКүн бұрын
No doubt creativity is different for everyone, You improved the project, and made it different, something I hate people do when you ask them for IMPROVEMENT, I mean improvement already takes changes but not in the main idea or essence of the song... I liked both versions, but still you made a new song based on the other guy's, instead of just improving his work :L but that's just my pov, doesn't mean is wrong, I just don't like when a professional does that.
