I agree-- he's a monster, because he not only has incredible technique, but he has something compelling to express and conveys it with a passionate intensity that reminds me of Hendrix. Also, like Hendrix, he goes back and forth between guitar and vocals effortlessly. There are plenty of guitar hot-shots whose main attribute is flashy technique but artists like Ritchie who utliize technique in the service of musicality and communication with the listener are much rarer and occupy a whole different level.

I've been playing guitar for nigh on 50 years. Compared to Richie, I've learned virtually nothing! Everything about his playing points to prodigy. And if that weren't enough, he's a great singer as well!
