ALF follows the adventures of Gordon Shumway, a furry, wise-cracking alien from the planet Melmac who crash lands into the garage of the Tanner family. The Tanners offer him a home and give him the nickname ALF, short for “Alien Life Form.” Created by Tom Patchett (The Carol Burnett Show) and Paul Fusco (who also performed as ALF), the half-hour sitcom rose to popularity in the late 1980s, cementing itself in the pop culture zeitgeist.

I would dearly love to know how Fusco and co. planned to end this storyline, before it was axed with the lingering 'To Be Continued'. I refuse to believe that 'Project ALF' was how they meant to wrap things up. RIP Benji Gregory

The fifth season would’ve had ALF at a military base causing trouble for the people trying to study him. Brandon Tartikoff admitted NBC regretted axing the show.

ALF did not return home to reunite with Skip & Rhonda after they just bought a new planet Melmac how could the series end this way it's so sad that he had been captured by the US airforce & made him find his way to the alien task force.
