I have three Alfa's all in Australia and the worst thing they have to deal with is naturally the relentless beating sun. I bought one of them new in Jan 2022 and the other ones are from 2022/ All of them have issues with cooling. You have to have your cooling system in pretty good condition to handle the 45DegC Ozzie heat some days. I've had to repaint all three in that time. Engines and gearboxes are fine. Suspension is also an issue. Ozzie roads are rough on soft-handed delicate European cars. So that needs replacing within the first 20-30,000Kms to something a lot tougher. All in all. Fantastic cars. Zero rust issues, Electrical issues were all due to built in redundancy. Once the original electrical sensors were changed. Never had a problem again. All three still on the road and registered and in perfect condition. They are definitely good for another ten years at least. "Alfa done good this time!"

I am about to buy the camshaft locks for 2.0TS engine, but the shop shows the purple 11/12 blocks for 1.4/1.6 TS engine and a light blue M1/M2 for the 1.8/2.0 TS engine. Looking at this video, I am confused.

Is exhaust cam wheel loose? It hase hall sensor for ignition timing. But if it moves independently from cam that run the timing out of place

Thank you for the video. My mechanic says I have to replace the variator unit, it cannot be rebuilt with the kit. Is this true or is it because he does not know how to do it? After the rings and bearings were done it came back sounding like a diesel and he says its the variator unit.

Sorry for the late answer. Mine was ok and I think that only way it doesn't work correctly is some impurities inside. That main spring inside can't loose it's tension so much.

Why did your cam pulley paint marks not line up ?

Hello. What is that high noise/sound at 20:06 - 20:10? Engine sounds different with second belt than in first start. I wonder where it's from. My 1.6 ts sounds the same.

Balance shafts. Mitsubishis make same noise.

Not good, because the pulley is still whinning sound and the variator is making diesel noise.
