I was a bit late watching this great video, Jan '21, and as a 4C owner found it massively entertaining. 2 cars and 2 drivers. But not not quite equal. The McLaren should of gone off into the distance, but the Alfa made it up in the bends and braking. I've not seen anyone take the outer line in the carousel before and probably cost the 4C a sec or two but still reeled the McLaren back in. Thank you, very watchable.

Grazie! The driver of the McLaren told me afterwards I was very fast at certain points and a bit slower at some other points. Braking is indeed amazing. Straight line I was surprised how well the 4c could keep up despite being with 2 persons in the car, when the McLaren driver was alone. Off course sat higher speeds he started to walk away, but that was above 200km/ph. I can go faster, but this was more or less a fun lap.

I think he did it to preserve the car

Doesn't take much to tweak a 4C to make it into a braking and cornering monster. But even with a few engine upgrades on the 4C the McLaren has the power advantage but needs longer straights to take advantage of it. Much of this is more about the drivers. There is a lot of difference in skill level here.

The McLaren is a wonderful car, but Alfa is ...Alfa.

nice run mate. do you use aftermarket coilovers? With my 4C on track i dont really know what the front or rear grip levels are like until its too late.
@CAR_NL4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I use the standard coilovers. I do have shimms on the lower front wishbones. The 4c is quite tricky, but I can save the car when necessary. On the Nürburgring I do drive in dynamic and not race. Just in case. On other tracks with more run wide zones I drive in race mode. What tyres do you use? I had the same experience with the Pirelli p Zero's. Going over to ad08r and now 595 rs pro I don't have the uncertainty anymore.

@@CAR_NL yeah i use michelin 4 in front and bridgestone RE003.. but i think for track may need to use something a bit more semi slick. I spun it on track (got video of it) and still to this day dont know how it happened - didnt feel like i pushing it that hard. it was in race mode.

@@Clint2jz I just looked your crash... Quite strange indeed. I never had this kind of situations with my car. The alignment of the car is incredibly important, the same for tyres. You can try stronger uniballs in the back. Gale Motorsport sales them. I should give the rear more stability. With my current set up I'm incredibly happy, but the 4c stays a difficult car on the limit.
@Clint2jz4 жыл бұрын
@@CAR_NL yeah I've recently installed Gale rear lower control bushings just need a shop that knows how to align..will be good to see the difference it makes on track. But like you should I don't expect it to make 4C more predictable at limit lol

@@Clint2jz I also have wheel spacers in the back. That makes the back also a little more stable in my opinion. I don't have them in the front btw. And get some fresh 595RS-PRO tires. You should be surprised
