The car world would be more boring without a brand like Alfa Romeo. So I really want the brand to survive, which depend of the success of this new line of products. So far its looking ok. Sales of the Guilia in Europe is around 3.000 units per month. For comparison the BMW 3-series sell around 10.000 units per month. Considering the Guilia is only available as a sedan, and that nobody can reasonably expect a whole new contender to take the segment lead, this is an ok result for Alfa Romeo. The Stelvio also sell around 3.000 units per month. Now it all depends on no "horrow stories" about reliability and customer service turning up in the next few years.

Of course there will be horrow stories, it's a FCA product

+Fundiver198 Actually Alfa sold on average 2.2k Giulias a month this year in Europe, while BMW sold something like 11k a month. But as you said, it's a new model (kind of, because it's 159 replacement, so not a completely new segment for the brand), and there is only one body style. I thought one body style has to do with the main market being the US, where station wagons are not very popular. However so far in the US Alfa sold something like 5k Giulias, less than BMW sells 3/4 Series in a month over there. That said I expect Stelvio sales will make up for lack of station wagon Giulia.

+Marek Drives You are right. I guess, I just saw one monthly number close to 3.000 and optimistically remembered it like "around 3.000 per month". Alfa was in this segment before yes. But while every new 3-series, A4 or C-class is just an update of the previous one, the Giulia and its derivatives (Stelvio) really are completely new cars, and the Giulia only came to market a few years after, the 159 was taken out of production. As for the US market, the Alfa brand was not sold there for decades, so its a completely new start. They still have a lot of work cut out for them obviously. And they also need to expand the model lineup further. Just look at the variety of products offered by the german manufacturers. With a mere two models, plus the outgoing Giulietta and Mito, this is only the beginning of the relaunch of Alfa Romeo.

Mayby an odd comparisson, but how does the Ford Edge compare against this Alfa? I don't care about top speeds or 0 to 100km/h. But what do you think is the best value for money?
