I have a Stelvio Ti Sport i bought in August of this year. Been a BMW guy for 20 years, I will say Stelvio is the only car that gave me such excitement and joy to drive. By far best review i've seen on a Stelvio. Most of the other enthusiast blogger complained about plastic pieces in the Stelvio and the infotainment system. Mostly stupid stuff. I turn my radio off and drive My Stelvio in dynamic mode everyday and drive it hard and loving every minute of it. Thanks for honest review...

I sold BMWs for 9 years and love the brand. I will always support BMW but I also just leased a Stelvio and I have to say, this has brought me back to the first time I drove a 135i coupe. I haven't had so much fun in years. I thought the simplicity of the cabin would bother me but now it only enhances the driving experience. Gotta say, style, handling and versatility, hard to beat if you want something unique.

So glad that there are people in the US that know what sport and high performance cars actually are. I moved from Europe to the US and i am so glad i have an Alfa Romeo dealer nearby. Bought instantly a stelvio and i love it. Incredible stearing and handling. Makes you forget that you are sitting in an SUV.

I own both a MB AMG GLC43 and the Base Stelvio. I prefer the Stelvio in all driving situation. Yes, the AMG accelerates faster, but the handling and ride are better in the Stelvio. BTW we've owned both for a year, Stelvio had zero problems, the AMG has had several annoying problems including repeated fuel gauge failures. It makes me want to look into the Stelvio Quattrofoglio.

nice video-review. More about the drive, less about the silly stuff most reviews offer. I've had a white TI Sport, Red Interior, Nero exterior package, for about 2 weeks. It just looks Italian thru and thru and it's a ton of fun to drive. I drove every SUV-CUV line from $40k to $70k, and Stelvio just delivers, by far, the best overall price and driving package too. Yes, some vehicles have more tech. Some have nicer interior finishes. But none of them combine engine, handling, and steering like this. I drove my wife nuts test driving vehicles, but in the end, she and I agreed. Best looking, most fun to drive, and by far the best value. And when Alfa can get a bit more comfortable seat in the Quad, I'm all in on one of those too!

One of the best reviews I've seen for Alfa Romeo Stelvio from someone who really has experience and knows what he is talking about. Explaining in detail why the car is so good. All the other youtube reviews are rubbish compare to yours, because they only talk about useless things. Great job and fun to listen. Your tone of voice is so convincing and comes from the heart. I will be waiting for your review for the Stelvio Q4 version. Take good care, Frankie from Monza, Italy.

Have a RR Evoque now. Its fine at 75 on the highway and no twists. But that is it. Its HORRIBLE to drive in town, the transmission cant figure out where it wants to be. The turbo lag is bad. And as you mentioned, it exhausting to drive. So for a $53K vehicle the Evoque basically sucks. The seats are hard adding to the exhaustive drive. The leg room in the back is non existent. SO any rear passenger needs to ask the front seat passenger to move the seat forward. Its a joke. But it sure is pretty and that is what sucked me in. I have seen other positive reviews on the Stelvio, but yours is the most informed for driving dynamics and overall feel of the vehicle. I certainly do not need the Quadrifoglio, so this will be great. I also like the look. Sure its not as luxurious inside as other premium brands. But why not give up a little for a driving experience like this. I certainly will never go to another Land Rover product. And boring Q5 or GLC, X3 does not interest me. And i want a little room, so a Macan is out based on cargo capacity and price. But i am happy nobody is buying these as there are deals all over and the lease is pretty aggressive. Just have to figure out which trim. Thanks for a great review

Some advice if you buy rim and tire insurance make sure Alfa dealers accept it. Second buy one with a spare. I had blowout the next day and took Alfa 10 hours to find me. Also Alfa don’t even offer a spare in US in service. Alfa customers service was nice and offer to buy me a spare. However I told them about no spare and they were stock. I had to buy one in Italy and spend here. For know I bought an extra factory rim and tire. Because the dealer in west palm told me if I used anything else my warranty is void. But the drives unbelievable and so much fun.

Yeah I’ve driven all the new AR’s, 2.0 & 2.9tt Giulia’s and 2.0 & 2.9tt Stelvio’s and, it’s remarkable how good they all are. I love my Giulia QV to death but just had my winter tires put on and 3 out of 4 forged wheels were bent. For the NY area the Stelvio QV might be a bit better all around for the lousy roads. When I drove a Stelvio QV up at Miller Motorcars this past summer and I was shocked how close it felt to the the Giulia QV. Even the base Stelvio feels like a better driver than many sports sedans. Hard to believe it’s AR’s first SUV. Love all the new AR’s! The Stelvio brakes do feel better on both the base and QV model than the Giulia. I think it’s two thing; the Stelvio has had the benefit of a bit more development time and they are significantly heavier than the Giulia’s which helps them with modulation a bit in my opinion. Also the Stelvio QV seems much louder than the Giulia QV, might be the big open cargo area makes it like a speaker enclosure and makes the bass boom a bit more...

I kind of missed all the fuss about the steering directness and lightness when I first drove a Stelvio. Because I did not had any experiance with modern SUVs which still lack any kind of car feel and still are kind of crap to drive. Now I know, Stelvio is the exception to the rule - it can feel just like a normal sedan, and that's something very few other suv's can do. The Stelvio I tried was quick, much quicker than it felt (I was surprised how quickly it got to illegal speeds, while I thought I was still driving normal and slow). This was probably mainly because of the suspension which did not allowed alot of forward/backward movement and low noise levels from exhaust.

I have a Nero edition and one thing I will say is that I love the look and ride. What lets it down in comparison to the Germans is the fit and finish, nobody can say the plastics in the interior are better. The drive however is on par if not better than the Europeans and it looks miles ahead. The car is going in for the drivers seat slightly moving so again for me, some questions over fittment.

Unrelated to this video, but I just watched your "Oil Change from Hell" video from a few months ago & noticed appears you utilize Jack stands to access the underside of your GT350. Was wondering if you had ever used or considered the "Race Ramps RR-56" product versus Jack stands as appears may be a safer way to access the underside of a vehicle & provide more surface to underside space? I've always had dealers change my oil as I worked a lot of hours @ my job (CPA Firm Partner) over the years but have more free time capacity nowadays so was gonna give the DIY oil change a try on my 13 Boss 302 but obviously not interested in a car falling on me so have been doing some research into equipment that allows for safe access to the underside of a vehicle & was curious if you might have any feedback from your experience. I am looking at buying one of these for the wife, but I am having trouble understanding how it is a "drivers car". With the lane control, collision avoidance, blind spot beeping is it not all distracting? Also the traction control cannot be turned off, forget enjoying the car in the winter time. The drive by wire braking as well, does this car still drive that good that you can ignore all the nannies and anti-driving options the car has? I was hoping that you would do a review of the Giulia Ti Sport as that is what I am trying to make up my mind in buying. I have been driving BMW 3 series for the last 20 years. As BMW has lost its way (people say the BMW is trying to come back G20), I am thinking about jumping the ship and so far from what I have researched, Alfa Romeo Giulia looks like the car that fits what I am looking for. Is the engine on the Stelvio (2.0T) the same as the one in Giulia? Do you know if the 2.0T engine is derived from the 2.9T or is it made in-house at Alfa Romeo. When I say in-house I mean designed & built by Alfa's engineer with no input from other brands. I am aware that all the current Alfa vehicles that are being sold in US are of Georgia platform that has been designed & developed by the Maserati & Ferrari engineers. But I have not been able to find any information about the 2.0T engine in the Giuilia, as all the good reviews and news making rounds are that of the Quadrifoglio's 2.9T engine.
@AlokSomani5 жыл бұрын
So I've had a Giulia Ti Sport for a year. The Stelvio 2.0 and Giulia 2.0 have the same engines (280hp, 306lb/ft.). I don't know if it was also derived from the 2.9T, but my guess is not. It is still an awesome, well constructed engine with class leading power output. We also have a 2013 BMW 335i, and there are a couple of things I can tell you in comparative terms: - The BMW is more of a consumer car than the Giulia in its emphasis on luxury and tech. A little more comfortable, slightly quieter interior, smoother transmission setup, lots of tech (top view, heads up display, etc.). - The Giulia is aimed at being a more pure driving experience. Wonderful cockpit, simpler interior controls, better handling, more engaging feel, more sport-tuned gearing. Suspension is possibly even a little better balanced between sport/comfort than the BMW if you like spirited driving. I think the BMW is a great car, but the Giulia is entirely different to me. It is just a focused, pure car, and I love how much it's not trying to be pretentiously premium with tech and luxuries. It focuses on quality where it matters most to a driver, so I would make this same decision every time. It is beautiful in its simplicity.

Shared with my son at Alfa Romeo, Albuquerque, New Mexico. I’m sure he will add to Dealership Showroom Monitors as he did with your Alfa Romeo.

Why is everyone going to the 2l turbo??i wish they went with a 3 l turbo
@klasseact66636 жыл бұрын
Sadly, CAFE numbers and think about it, EVERYONE has a 2.0L turbo right now!
@zontarr22-zon6 жыл бұрын
Because is below 2L is more like 1995cc for less carbon footprint and to complies with environment regulations also to be in the more tax affordable for large public, in general terms that’s it why.

The write off of the Alfa Romeo is steep. Here in the Netherlands I never buy a alfa romeo. The write off in 3 years of time is the half of the price of the car!

Too bad Alfa doesn't offer a bright tan (think Ferrari tan) interior with this outstanding exterior color
@autofanaticcars6 жыл бұрын
they do offer tan and a camel color on non QV models of the Giulia i have seen both and they are really nice.
@dinopappous66396 жыл бұрын
@@autofanaticcars ...but the "tan" which they call "Crema" is very light and faint in color and the camel is actually brown...I had a 1993 164 L in Green with a BUTTERSCOTCH tan interior ...BRIGHT ...BRIGHT...BRIGHT and colorful....Ferrari like....That would look SICK with the Misano Blue....
@AlokSomani5 жыл бұрын
@@dinopappous6639 I know they have an actual "Tan" interior for the Giulias, but they have a darker "Chocolate" for the Stelvios. The Tan isn't quite a Ferrari tan, perhaps a little more butterscotch than that. I was originally looking for Montecarlo Blue with the Tan interior, but ended up with Rosso Comp. Red with Black interior, due to lack of availability near me (Giulia).

Leased the Stelvio in July I absolutely love the look and the way it handles. But I must say I'm having lots of issues with it. The Navigation will just stop working for no reason, the windows go down when you want to put them up. The dash will light up like a Christmas Tree at times again, for no reason. It'll downshift when coming to a stop pushing the car forward and sometimes the brakes feel like they're just not there....Scary!. Along with little things to minor to mention. I started having issues after 5000K miles, I now have 9000K. Service is quite a distance away from me so taking it in is a hassle. When I called service he said people have been complaining about the same electrical issues as myself. I don't want to bash this car because it makes me feel special and different than the average SUV next to me on the road , but I wouldn't buy or recommend this vehicle to anyone. I'm sorry I got a 39 month lease..Should have went with the 24 month. I think this vehicle is going to have lots of issues as time goes on.

all new cars have issues you should consider your states Lemon law process and move on, no car today is perfect and you just got a bad one it happens with anything mass produced us consumers must purchase from a simple laundry machine for the house, a toaster to a new car.
@AlokSomani5 жыл бұрын
I anticipate and hope that your car will actually have less issues as time goes on. 2018 was Stelvio's first year, and the problems you describe sound a lot like the electrical/computer issues people had with the Giulias in its first year (2017). By 2018, it seems like most of those issues had been worked out. So let's hope they keep delivering software updates to you that remove those issues.

I have a feeling that this guy has not even come close to a Stelvio let alone owning one

Have count how many issues this vehicle came with 🤣, it's very annoying when one gets a new car and within 2 years of ownership we have 8 ( right ) manufacturer recalls , and several trips to the local dealer for other issues , like the one we just ran into , the lever to open the hood broke , can't open the hood to check on anything ,like washer fluid level etc etc Sure it is a fun car to drive , but the problem after problem is take all the fun out of it And please , STOP comparing it to Ferrari for good

i know ,you have a strong sporty platform,but,as Italian,I have to admit,the designer should have done better in terms of design,it lacks finishing touches,it is somehow a little poor in terms of exterior trimming ,for example i would have added a real brushed stainless steel shield on the rear bumper ,like Mercedes does,they simply did a two tone color.Still the front bumper would have gained in style from more aluminum or chrome trimming around the coolings openings,the grilles are mde of cheap plasti, where a car like this deserves a metal stamped grille inserted into the mouth opening with an aluminum brushed/polished trim.This stuff can't match the ambition of rebirthing an high end brand like Alfa Romeo,no compromise are admitted in term of high quality material,the richness of material is mndatory here,you CAN?T simply stamp a plastic bumper and insert a black stamped grille from behind,bam...done.No man ,you have to count at least 3 different material,from carbon fiber,to aluminum,to stainless steel and chrome.Same for the lower skirts,again material ,material ,material,not just a simple matt black plastic trim.Believe buddy this is a kind of weird FIAT legacy,they tend to a real reliable platform and honest designing but lack in the refinishing,and in a segment like this,with ambition like this ,no compromise,in my opinion ,you HAVE TO ASTONISH your competitor,not to be criticized by an honest Italian Alfista...my two cents buddy

Great car indeed.

Does it use plastic or composite material in critical areas such as the exhaust manifold, intake manifold or radiator? This is important to know for long term service. BMW is well known for this nonsense and I believe other Euro car makers as well.
@autofanaticcars5 жыл бұрын
not much of that reinforced composite on these cars which is great

hello boy, with my poor english, I guessed that this was to be a competent Alfa Romeo Stelvio review,I activated the subtitles and I translated every single sentence of your video, only those who possess the technical skills and the passion for mechanics like you can understand how much engineering was injected into Giulia and Stelvio created by a noble brand like Alfa Romeo and can make reviews like this. greetings from Lugano, Switzerland
