From the outside it looks like a dressed up economy based automobile IMO. The interior look is much better, but too small for the price. Also, priced between $44,590 to $58,840, this is in a price class above vehicles of similar size such as the Audi Q3. The Alfa Tonale is priced into Acura RDX and Genesis GV70 territory. Almost BMW X3 and Audi Q5 territory. All of those are larger and most would consider to be more luxurious. This is going to be a tough sell. I'd recommend that Alfa lowers the price.

Drive by wire brakes are a deal breaker. The Stelvio has them and the modulation is unpredictable and unsafe. What's wrong with regular hydraulic brakes?

The Alfa dealer near me is not open on Saturday's. They expect you to take a day off work to buy their car and then take another day off to bring it in for maintenance and another day off for repairs. No thank you and no sale.

This may be my favorite car on the market. Does anyone know about Alfa reliability. The Giulia long term test with Motor Trend was abysmal. There are reports of problems with this car in Europe. I met a Stelvio owner today and he said he had no problems in 2 years. Wish Toyota or Mazda made something like this with an automatic transmission and PHEV of this size or smaller.

@@zero7523 Turbo on CX-30 has had some problems reliability wise. Also it's an ugly car to my eyes. And they don't offer a hybrid ya. Just waiting for the next CX30 from Mazda to do a better job with the styling ie. less body cladding and a little longer. Something is off with the proportions. The Alfa is perfect. The Corolla Cross hybird is decent but still want more power.

This is very true. This is missing the many good things of Stelvio. The rotary dial for the screen is missing here. Then Stelvio is RWD while this is FWD. And I heard that the steering is not as precise as in Stelvio. If not considering the PHEV part, Stelvio can be had with huge discounts and they will make up for the EV savings. And Stelvio has longer warranty

Glad to see a manufacturer is utilizing an electric rear axle now waiting to see if some 3rd party EV group might make an electric rear axle for existing FWD EVs as long as they could get access to the vehicles software. Anyway, good looking car nicely done and looks better than the Hornet.

Every company can produce a lemon but the incessant Italian car reliability discussion has gotten old 2017 Giulia Quad ...custom ordered ...best car EVER' 2020 Stelvio Ti Sport....daily driver...wish I had bought the Quad but I still love my Stelvio I could go on and on about my "Uber Quality German Car Ownership Experiences" .... The amount of incorrect information being provided in this video is just sad. The most egregious being the 20 inch wheels being described as 19 inch wheels at 2:32 when the presenter is kneeling next to the wheel where the size of both tire and wheel is right there next to him on the sidewall. This can be read on the tire at 18:10 with the size being 235/40/ZR20. It doesn't get any better from there with the only mistake getting caught in editing being the grossly incorrect curb weight he quoted. C'mon man, you gotta do better than this.

I would fully understand if it was an option that should be ordered from the factory, not just a sample at the dealership. But for there not to be a manual transmission alternative makes no sense.

In an era where the same vehicle has different types of engines, different types of seats, trim, equipment, wheels, and many more customizable things. Why can't I choose to have a manual transmission? To give an example within Alfa Romeo, the Gulia in all trims is also offered with manual transmission in Europe, which is not the case in the United States. As I said in the other answer, I would fully understand if it was an option that one should order from the factory. But an option after all.

The Alfa is the emotional choice, maybe not the smarter choice. The RAV4 isn’t fun at all and the Alfa is better to drive and has a nicer interior. Reliability is a concern though.

Plug in hybrids, especially in the luxury segment, lose range as part of the trade in getting the flexibility. My wife's 5 series phev has total like 320 whereas the regular 4cyl has closer to 500.

Ok. An Alfa Romeo with a bland powertrain and limited driving feel and even brake by wire. I know why I’ve always had a desire to buy a 164 to augment the briefly enjoyable mistake I made buying a Bi-Turbo for a month. But this doesn’t have all the passion that makes you have some momentary madness putting up with the unreliable nightmare that owning Italian cars generally is. This is not only lacking that ‘passion’, and I can get this not-passionate piece of junk as a Dodge and have $20k in my pocket to cover some of the maintenance cost. If this does well, my already impressive opinion of American stupidity will get notched up pretty danged high.
