I remember back in the seventies all the older guys would trick out their cars, this is the sound you'd hear all day long especially on weekends, Chargers, Roadrunners, GTOs, Chevelle, TransAms, it was great to be a kid back then.

When I was in high school, graduated 1971, all the guys had the cool cars you named, including a Corvette split window and a Dodge SuperBee with the big spoiler. Myself drove a 1965 Buick Riviera with 401, after high school bought new a 1972 Javelin AMX 401 which I still have. It sounds like the '68 Charger in this video.

@Marko Stojcevic glasspacks yes but not really too much on Mopar machines that I remember. That most people I know that had mopars they like to run those thrush turbo mufflers with the duels. Guys that had like Ford's mustangs and cougars and those with like Chevy's used to run the glass packs quite a bit

My late father had a gold 67 Plymouth GTX with a 426 hemi in his heyday. Showed me the highways up north where they drag raced. He got me into cars and we worked on my first car which was an old Camaro. Good memories hunting the junkyards with him for useful parts on the cheap. In the 1960's and early 1970's we had a local hangout in my town known as Eat n Park. Just like happy days except the girls did not have roller skates. But they did come out to your car, take your order and bring your food to you. Every evening my brother and I would go to this place because he owned a 1969 Chevelle 396. Muscle cars would cruise through, some would stop and back into their parking space and wait for someone to challenge them to a race. When that happened, most people would follow to a long straight piece of road to race. But after a few years the police started to stake out this road and it was on to a new location for the next race. Wonderful times.

I remember the Eat n Parks. We did the same thing. I had a '70 Charger ,then later I had a '74 and '71. Started at Eat N Park, through the McDonalds then through a pizza place. Put 30 - 40 miles in a night going around in a big circle. Loved every minute of it. Those were some of the best times ever.

Boy, some of the gorillas just about killed me. My brother Jim is the best brother a man could ask for.....I guess it was sort of a 'bonding' thing for us.
