Momo is nepali street food. You should’ve tried authentic steamed momo first and then kothey(which is half fried) and fried momo. Chilli momo are usually served at the restaurants, but you can find yummy steamed momo with jhol(peanut, sesame and tomato sauce) or regular tomato spicy sauce 🤤

@@rakshyapokharel516 are you from kathmandu? If you are than you should know about bhyar bhyare momo (momo which was sold in small bhatti) where they sell only momo with jhol in a public location for immediate consumption. Street food doesn’t always have to be by a vendor who sell in a cart.

@@alfonsoandjessica: See, when we cook at home in India, we (at least I) prefer to use meat on the bone... because we cook visually unlike in the West. That way, we can prevent overcooking the meat and keep it juicy. Also, meat on the bone (both Chicken and Chevon) can be slow-cooked for a long time without any issues. Marination time plays a big part as well. Most restaurants (at the Indian ones in the West) won't invest that kind of time... and therefore the meat can be tough at times, especially using parts like chicken breasts.

Not being biased about countries but the only difference between nepal and India what I feel is same spices used in different ways and the different way is the amount of spices we pour in the food from oil to the spices and that’s makes Indian food more spiced out because of the amount and varieties they put in the food and when it comes to nepal it’s more like same dish but that on point not too spicy not too sour not to oily just blended well proud Nepali ❤️and trust me no any country can beat Nepal’s Momo’s

Indian and Nepali food is quite similar not A100 percent but 40 percent... India has so much sweet and spicy food and so many recipes.. like wise Nepali food..and the culture similarly coz of Hinduism...but there is some meat we are not 🚫 not allowed into Nepal like beef.. Nepalese are eating buffalo.n also there is some tradition who eat pig meat as well..but Indians are not allowed to sell these things and still get pig in the store in India..but as a Indian i really appreciate the Nepalese food❤❤ the momo in the Nepal 10/100000000.. the momos is awesome and noodles with gravy is out of this world...and I had the best rice curry like a they given a set that was out of this world.. ❤❤ love you guys i will definitely visit Nepal as soon as possible that going to 4th time in nepal..❤❤❤ lots of love from India ❤❤❤

its like visiting norteast of india saying Indians eat dogs . Nepal has 100+ different types of ethnic population some prefers eating these thing some not. In the west of Nepal You will not find buffalo related things for sell just like north India

Also dal chawal of India the custom origin from Nepal dal Bhat. Just like idli in southern India from Indonesia, samosa from central Asia like authentic Indian food is probably rasgula. As even Gulab jamun is outside. That being said blay eye peas that is cultivated in South Asia came from Africa and kidney bean (rajma) from Mexico. So like Nepali people will say dal chawal origin from Nepal just like valmiki Ramayan and rig vedh (vashsista rishi ashram in Nepal, teacher of Shree ram also).

Nepali and Indian food are similar, however what differentiate them is Nepali food is less spicey and properly adapted to suit Nepali palate with its own special flavors and spices. I think the restaurant you have visited is actually a Nepalese owned restaurant and thus food are toned down in spices. The interior and utensils used for serving is also a typical Nepali way. Nepali momo and chowmein are completely different and fabulously delicious here in Nepal due to use of local ingredients to make them. Indian food are adapted and made more delicious here in Nepal, as in India they are either too spicy, oily or full of masala to overwhelm anyone. You need to visit Nepal to have a clear understanding of Nepalese food and you will definitely love them more. Hope you visit Nepal soon

Both countries foods are very similar im sense of the use of the types of spices. Indians tend to be more innovative and almost use too much spices in their food. While nepalese stick to their traditional food. Some people might prefer too much spices in their food but we have definately forgotten that spices wore used as medicine more than just flavours. The use of too much heavy spices began with demand for spices from the west and after britishers left it got even more.

Indian foods are British fusion now it’s known as chicken tikka , butter chicken. They were originated from British tongue while were colonised more than a century. There are few food like somosa, chatpat and pani puri are only Indian typical.
