Me too. Reception was pretty dubious way down on the southern border of Texas when the nearest tv stations were in San Antonio. I was a kid growing up in the 50s/early 60s and all the tv sets were B&W like the one this was recorded from; that was just as well because I imagine Hitchcock wasn't in color anyway.

The neighbour who heard him fall would have called emergency services and they would have noticed that something was wrong with her as well. When my sweet dog Gigi died of pancreatitis my heart was broken in a hundred pieces. I happened to be a volunteer at Humane Society and two days later I went there to bring home a dog to foster, I was so lonely. Someone had just brought a little brown stray dog and I brought her home. Of course, I was a "foster fail" and she really was such a comfort to me in my grief over Gigi. Had her for 7 years (she was an older dog); she was such a joy. Everyone is different. Some have to wait a while before they bring another dog home. For me, my Ginger was what I needed at that awful time.

@@elaineteeter9485 No one dies. All animals who have been loved by a person or another animal, most especially higher animals like dogs, are taken care of in heaven; we all have astral bodies as well as physical ones. The NDE's have identified beloved pets in the afterlife: a horse and a dog were seen in a field playing together. When they saw the NDE'er, they stopped to look. When they realized he was not the parent of either one, they went back to playing. You will be reunited with your pets in the next life. They are waiting for you; they never forget their loved ones. Grieve as long as you need. Then look forward, not back, at a time in the future when you will again live in love and happiness with your darlings.❤🐶

This episode has credibility problems. First, 13 IS very old for a dog. It is ELDERLY for a dog and death is generally expected about that time. Second, you don't have to be a doctor to realize that an animal is not breathing. There was no reason to believe the wife buried that animal alive. People do get very strongly attached to their pets. People love their pets dearly. But they know that their pets are not immortal.
