@@gracemiller5472 I remember I used to roll the piccolo outwards and look down slightly as it made the note fall flat. I hope that helps some, can't remember exactly how I did it. It was something like 6 years ago

I just read the other comments you've replied and let me say y'all so talented! In my senior year, we was performing this piece and and A LOT of 7th/8th graders was there. They was watching us and was speechless. The fact that y'all performed this song is amazing. I was a bassoonist long ago (01-08). Played this piece too. Sometimes having to hold that by myself or holding up a weak low voice section. The last time I played it was in 07 with the freshman band and myself and the bass clarinet player took a breath at the very same time, leaving a break in that low G. It was hilarious. A fun piece. Listen to it every year
