@@zamima5540 its popular but distasteful. Cuban music is suited for cuban dance. Not On2. The reason its popular is because the music is so good. My point is people should make the effort to switch between the two depending on the music

@@kunited9 damn, never thought the reply would come so quickly 😂 yeah, I understand what you mean, but in the end, there isn't any objectivity that you can use to determine how should be danced to what. It's always a feeling that drives you into a dance. I have to admit that, even though it's Cuban Salsa music, I love to dance on2 to it. It isn't something to think about, but about to feel. So yeah, it might look weird, but in the end it doesn't matter how it looks in a social dance, because as long as you can feel the music well enough and have that connection to it and to your partner, it's always good. There isn't a right or wrong. I surely agree, that TECHNICALLY it's suited better to dance your Son to Son music, to dance your on1 Cuban style to Cuban music, to dance mambo to mambo music etc.. but only technically. Always follow the feeling

@@zamima5540 I agree that partying is about feeling especially if drink alcohol and want to have a good time. I also agree that If you lack the dancing knowledge, you fill in the gap with musicality from your own repertoire. It does not make it right though. The whole point of dancing is how to align the flow of the music with the movement. On2 does not represent cuban music's rythm flow accurately enough. Same happens if you dance bachata during a kizomba. Whay is actually problematic is that these people are teachers and they also mix it in their classes. Classes are not about feeling. People pay to learn

​@@kunited9 to be honest most of my fellow dancers dont really drink alcohol :D Mostly makes dancing more difficult and less pleasing for the Follow (and Lead). "The whole point of dancing is how to align the flow of the music with the movement". Well yes i do agree with you, but only to a certain extend. "Problem" is that the "how to align the flow of the music with the movement" can be done in unlimited numbers of various ways. There is no right or wrong. There is no official law, rule or anything else that states that for you HAVE to dance cuban on1, because the music indicates so. There is the ballroom Salsa, which is danced with Tango, Discofox, Quickstep and so on. Those dances have official guidelines, rules, etc.. But we don't dance that kind of Salsa. And neither are these in the video. Rodrigo Cortazar actually even states in one of his videos, that he hates currently the whole Salsa World (on1, on2, son, LA, NY, Palladium, Rumba, etc.) being divided so hard, mostly because one group tells the other group "no no no, you have to dance Son Cubano to this!! "no no, you have to dance New York on2 with this song" etc., which i do think its true at the moment. We shouldn't divide those Styles, and instead fuse them and try to get together als whole unity of different style dancers. Eddie Torres Jr. has his own Style with fusing Boogaloo, Palladium etc.. Rodrigo and Bersy love the Afro-Cuban movements, Fadi Fusion combines his Salsa with Hip-Hop and strong Footwork, Terry Salsalianza/Tauliaut puts in his Salsa some Popping, which he learnt prior to his Salsa Career. As you can see, everyone has his/her own unique style, and everyone uses different styles to different songs. Mixing in your son basic step with some variations into an on2 NY, letting Palladium flow in into your on1 LA, fusing Son elements like the tornadillos into your Salsa on1 Cuban dancing. Thats what makes Salsa Salsa. The name "Salsa" comes from mixing all those styles together. Dividing those styles and, in this video that you complain about, cutting off their on2 fun because this song is mostly influenced by cuban rythms, only makes Salsa less "Salsa". I hope you understood what message i am trying to send you. Surely there are many who think otherwise, and that is completely fine. Everyone is individually different. But complaining on someones style in a dance, that technically requires and allows you to have your own unique style and freedom is not really the way to go.

El problema es que quieren incluir tantos pasos libres en vez de bailar con lo que el corazón manana pide. Es cierto antes con solo subirse al escenario y un solo paso te hacia vibrar ya ni eso. Saludos
