Thank you for this 'Encouraging' word. After the 2024 Presidential loss of VP Harris, which feels like a loss to me and so many others personally. This message reminded me of Who God is to me, all He's done in my life, and of His FAITHFULNESS to me in times past, and He'll see us even through this season also, just as He did from 2016 - 2020. So, I won't grieve long. There is work to do and God is STILL in control and No Weapon formed against His people will prosper. Praise His Holy Name. 🙏🏾

Jesus didn’t ask the rich young ruler to give up everything in an arbitrary way, but He was trying to show the young man that he loved money more than God. Jesus never asked Zaccheus or Nicodemus to give up everything, because they did sincerely love God. Serving money or mammon is actually choosing Satan. This is what Jesus was actually showing the rich young ruler. Peter gave up everything for Jesus but only because he wanted to be greatest in God’s kingdom. He fought to be greatest in the kingdom and never understood Jesus’ mission until the cross. Peter never understood God’s love until he had the vision that the gospel needs to go to Gentiles. We humans do not grow up with innate sense of fairness. We grow up under the tree of knowledge of good and evil believing life is about reward and punishment. God is neither of those. He is grace and mercy, forgiveness and unconditional love. God doesn’t owe us anything and if we got what we are owed, we chose sin and death. We need to get rid of the “supposed to”, because God is total freedom and choice. He never says we are supposed to keep the commandments. He says IF you love Me. We are not supposed to do anything and that is why too many Christians serve out of duty. We choose good simply because it is good, not because we're supposed to choose good. The denarius symbolizes eternal life which we can never work for or earn. It is a free gift no matter how long or how hard we think we work. Jesus is the ONLY One who actually gave up everything for us. We will never understand how much He gave up for us until we receive the kingdom. In God’s kingdom there is absolutely NO hierarchy. I would not make any deal about equality. Philippians 2: 6 Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness. God blesses EVERY one! He sends His bountiful blessings symbolized by rain on the just and unjust. The fact that we are alive proves we are blessed by God. He cannot do anything but good or bless us. Satan is the one who snatches away our blessings. God’s sovereignty never means that He does whatever He wants. He loves because He is love. God is only sovereign in love. He can NOT act sovereign in any painful, harmful, depriving, choosing one and not another, blessing one and not another way. God has to be good to everyone because He cannot be anything but good to ALL. I feel the unconscious theme of this sermon is that God is not fair so accept whatever he gives you, good or bad. I believe he is promoting Satan but doesn’t realize it. I’m sorry.
