Today I am back on the hunt and checking out one of my favourite hunting grounds and places to hang out in my city (Sydney, Australia), Alfy's New & Vintage Toy Shop in Pyrmont... and I'm not alone, joining me are my mates Matt and Andrew from the KZbin channel Keep on Collecting!
Alfy's toy store offers a tremendous range of vintage action figures, modern toys and adult collectables, and a really cool vintage toy museum section. The store is well, well worth checking out if you're a local or visiting Sydney.
A big thank you to Alfy and Opal for allowing us to film in their store and just being all around great people and very interesting collectors! You can find Alfy's New & Vintage Toy Shop at:
Address: Shop 7/233 Harris St, Pyrmont NSW 2009
Phone: 0422 723 312
Website: alfystoys.com.au/

Big thanks as always to Andrew and Matt, and if you're not already familiar with their fantastic channel go check out Keep on Collecting:

i am so horrifically envious of Andrew’s pickup! All that TMNT movie 3 goodness! especially the Wick with catapult, UGH! Envy doth flow through my veins!

I know!! I didn't think too much of it at the time, as the Movie 3 range wasn't on my radar, but in hindsight I'm most envious as well!

REALLY great video guys ! I only found Alfy's shop recently & his prices are quite good for the variety on offer. Hey Matt - I have that Mattel Cylon Raider too from when I was a kid, it's a cool toy (mine has the firing missiles & I still have the figure, box & instructions). Thanks for showing some classic action figures - however being a bit older than you I always felt a bit sad with the 5POA articulation of my figures back then so "articulation" has been my holy grail since I was a wee lad in the early 70's ie: today's action figures are "hand candy" to me. I'd be interested to see if anyone remembers the "Major Matt Mason" toys circa late 60's / early 70's ? These were THE best space toys & figures EVER & the pride and joy of my own collection.

Thanks Jase, really appreciate the positive feedback! Yeah Alfy's is awesome, you don't necessarily expect bargain prices at a retail store (understandably so!) but I also found the prices very good, especially considering the selection and it's a super fun place to wander around. It's interesting to hear your thoughts on articulation, the action figure lines I was drawn to as a kid weren't big on articulation, most of the Ninja Turtles are 5-7 points but my bigger issue with them back in the day was that the things wouldn't stand on their own! Still, a little imagination did wonders haha! Matt and Andrew may have but I'm not familiar with the Major Matt Mason line.. just had a look on Google and they look really cool!

Hi Judge Jase, Matt here. That firing Cylon raider would be one of the first release ones. Cause wasn't it from the Viper or Cylon that a child choked and died from one of those missiles and they had to change the design? Hence the changes to the rocket firing Boba Fett too!! I remember Matt Mason! Andrew has the Big Jim camper and Big Jim. I'm more Action Man. However, yes, Andrew and I love our 70s toys too!! Weren't Mattel doing a re-imagining of Matt Mason, Big Jim and another action fig line from that period? I think it's a 8" line tho...heard anything?

Awesome haul, you got 'Jeff Goldblum' ghostbuster figure there, lol.... I believe that Beast can do the back flip (remembered my old friend have that figure and show it's backflip).... Love the TMNT III figures! The horses, if I'm not mistaken that Playmates have reused those horse molds for the TMNT 2012 series for its Usagi Yojimbo stories....

Thanks Charlie! You've got me wanting to watch the 80s version of The Fly now! I didn't know that Beast figure had a backflip action feature but that's pretty cool. Those TMNT 3 horses are so cool, it's good that they re-used the sculpts because they're awesome👌

Amazing. I'm going to be in Sydney for work at the end of Feb and I will definitely check this place out to drool over the museum! You guys should come on a road trip to Melbourne, there's a few great stores down here. A great vid as always Scott, and it's always a pleasure to see Matt and Andrew hard at work. Great work by Andrew on the steady cam, too!

I'll happily take advantage of any opportunities to hang out and talk toys with Matt and Andrew.😁 Definitely make a point of visiting Alfy's when you're here, and it's funny you suggest it, I know there are some great toy and collectable stores in Melbourne and Matt were only just discussing a potential trip down!

Oh mate, whenever you're in Sydney you have to check out Alfy's, or better yet, we can meet up there with Matt and Andrew. Do you have much in the way of vintage toy and collectables stores in WA? Really appreciate the kind words, thank you. Oh wow, hopefully you got a nice return on the Toxic Crusaders vehicles, they're super expensive to collect these days! Thanks Ryan, I look forward to checking out your channel as well!🤙

@@ScottCrusher yeah not too much vintage toy stores around but my local collector zone is pretty awesome, they also run a toy collector fair called collector toy fair and their is another toy fair called nexus toy fair which you can always find some really good finds. I’ll be heading to Melbourne in may so I’ll checking out some good vintage toy shops one is called “Aaron’s Collectables” and “Lobos” is Insane. In regards to toxic crusaders I wish I kept hold of them but that like anything prices change all the time 👍🏻

There wasn't an Baby Animal made in the McDonald's line...it was Kermit Piggy Fozzie and Gonzo... skateboard...pink car... horse on wheels...and a big wheel... trust me I know because when I was young I collected all four from McDonald's...I remember it vividly because all the kids was waiting on Kermit he was the last one to come out... Piggy was first... Gonzo second and Fozzie third... those were the good ol'days...man I really miss the 80s

At the risk of sounding like captain nerd . The hob goblin isn’t related to the green goblin he’s a guy who stole the green goblin’s tech .

Well ur right. Cause I was actually thinking of the original film trilogy with Norman and Harry Osborn. So when I was reading about Hobgoblin, wondering what the heck I was talking about, I found, that in some instances, Harry Osborn was depicted as the Hobgoblin in Stan Lee and Larry Leiber's newspaper strips and also in the Ultimate Marvel comic book series from 2000 to 2015. Now I feel like Captain Nerd 😄 but interesting fun fact I hope 👍
