Hi,In this video, at 4:22, when you start talking about the black algae, there is a tiny plant under your middle finger. Is it Callitriche stagnalis?

It took me the longest time to finally reduce my dang lighting! I finally downloaded the Fluval app for their plant light. I hate to say it, but their fancy-schmancy light is absolutely worth it. I have a ton of anubias - from petite, to nana and barteri, congensis, and even the gigantea. I have a hob with matrix in it and an internal mini filter with sponges, and two sponge filters. I also have 3 permanent pothos growing roots down into the aquasoil and am growing out other pothos cuttings, a peperomia, and spider plant pups. It's only stocked with cherries, a betta, and a red bristlenose that's about to be swapped out for a juvenile. So, low bioload, a ton of plants, my nitrogen is always at zero across the board, but i was getting green spot algae? The lighting, duh! I've dialed it waaaay back and it never goes above 50% for more than 3 hours. Afterward, it drops in half, and rests at 3% for the last 2 hours. The glass is clean and my anubias just need a trim. I can't believe how many years it took me to just curb the lighting. 🤦

Glad you finally figured out the problem! Sometimes the simplest fixes are the hardest to implement. Fine tuning the light for tanks can be an art form!

I aim for a perfect scape as a goal, but I will never be MD Fish Tanks. But I do have a damned-near perfect, planted 9g tank with pristine water & healthy shrimp, snails & a couple fish & all it has is an airstone & a heater. =) My 17g guppy breeder is a disaster however, that's loaded with algae, but I've got some snails & shrimp working on it & when it builds up too much, I collect some of it & put it in the good tank for that shrimp & snail colony to eat. My 4g betta tank is ugly, but self-sustaining too with a gentle filter & a heater.
