my math teacher blabbered about this for about 40 minutes wit hstuff, that you shouldn't do and stuff, that would lose you points on your test.... This took me less, than 7 minutes time and I got the calculations from my book done... such huge thanks for that.

So to clarify: finding m: y2-y1/x2-x finding b: use y=mx+b (but plug in m into formula & the x and y given already).

Because -11 is x and 5 is y. In other words, you would graph x=-11 and y=5. Now, if the answer was 2/4 then you would reduce to 1/2 and graph either number and now that each point would be on the line. I hope this answered you question.

I'm sorry but aren't you supposed to use Two-Point form which is Y-Y1= y2-y1/x2-x1 (x-x1) ?
@taitaizozo
@taitaizozo 8 жыл бұрын
To find the equation of the straight line in any form we must be given either: two points, (x1, y1) and (x2, y2), on the line; or. one point, (x1, y1), on the line and the slope, m; or. the y intercept, b, and the slope, m. In the first problem, we were given two points. This guy was probably doing the rise/run equation to find the slope-intercept form. Not that it's necessarily wrong, just wrong situation.
