Djay is the most under-rated DJ Software out there. There was a time when noone was streaming and then, boom, Djay had Spotify. When Spotify went away, then Tidal came on board. Everyone asked for DVS support and that changed the game when Djay introduced DVS support. Now we have Apple Support and the other goodies Djay announced. Nice work and truly innovaticve.

I'm a long time user of itunes/Music and have gotten used to using a wire to sync my iPad music with my Mac. My iPhone is set to sync over Wi=Fi and that works just as well. I definitely don't use the Sync Library function in iTunes/Music because of the Apple Match feature. So far this has been the best work flow for me to keep my devices synced up. I will only use the Apple Music streaming platform to fill in the gaps and to get requests for songs I don't have stored locally just like I did with Tidal. I'm just very happy to now have access to Apple music in DJay Pro.

djay user and Apple Music subscriber here. This solves one major problem for me, which is that I was subscribing to Tidal for the month in advance ofgigs where I thought I might take requests. Now I can take requests with the streaming service I pay for anyway. Apart from that, no change anticipated; I will live in the local music tab, buy my music on the iTunes store, and use smart playlists and wire-based sync with my Mac and iPad to make sure I have my complete and updated library on both. I do use Cloud music library on my phone and Mac, where I’m not worried if Apple Music fails to sync the correct recording to my phone. It is no coincidence that this partnership was announced on the very day Apple Vision Pro hit the public. Apple Vision Pro is a locked-down system, like iOS but without the sync wire, so unless Apple was willing to let one of their premier partner apps encourage its users to subscribe to third-party music streaming services to experience augmented reality DJing, they needed this partnership.

Nice one Phil. Products like this are much needed pieces of the PRO DJ/Producer workflow. As a long time iTunes/Music user, and pro DJ/Producer, one of the biggest pains for me has been using iTunes/Music to try out mixes quickly. Now I can crate dig, Shazam, make playlists, etc…and do that on any device. Then if I want to sync to Beatport for downloads/WAVs, that’s been solved with “tunemymusic”. From there I can continue w/the typical pro flow for a studio mix, stream or live show w/ableton, DJ.studio, serato, rekordbox, etc…where I only want to manage relevant playlists. Party on freaks 🤙🏽😎🖤

@@digitaldjtips Absolutely, 100%! As an ardent Apple fan, my journey with graphic design dates back to the late '80s, reveling in the instant creativity of manipulating typography. As a creative individual, I seamlessly embraced Digital DJing when MP3s and related formats rose to prominence in the early 2000s. The evolution of technology allowed DJs to transition from vinyl and CD setups to digital files, offering unparalleled flexibility and accessibility. Retiring from DJing about 14 years ago, I rediscovered the Djay app two years back, amazed by its transformation, especially with the groundbreaking neural mix integration. This innovation felt akin to the invention of wheels, signifying a transformative moment in the DJing world. Since then, I've returned to professional DJing, performing in Canada, the USA, Jamaica, and soon, Turkey. My extensive use of iTunes and iPods since their inception has cultivated an almost expert knowledge of the Music app. I had hoped for integration with Djay Pro, and now, with access to over 10,000 songs I've saved over the years, my DJ software has become a treasure trove. However, the unfortunate limitation on neural mix capabilities poses a challenge to my preferred mixing technique. Also, the prospect of reverting DJ remixes to original versions is a bit disheartening. I'm actively seeking solutions and will share any breakthroughs for others to benefit. Before I conclude, I must express my admiration. You're not only a trailblazer in the DJing world but also tirelessly dedicated, compassionate about DJing, and genuinely committed to helping people. Your teaching methods in the course I purchased are the epitome of easy-to-follow steps, facilitating perfection in learning. Thank you for your invaluable contributions!

I was a bit distracted, but I believe you were concerned about how to keep things separate. Here's how I do it: I have two music libraries. One contains my local tracks from DJ pools, which I organize using Apple Music without the streaming service. The other library is for my Apple Music subscription, where I keep all my streaming songs. When I DJ, I load up my DJ library with only my local tracks. This allows me to keep them separate, as Djay Pro gives you an Apple Music option that bypasses the locally loaded library and gives me access to both libraries within the app and the second icon is for your locally loaded Apple Music Library. Hope that makes sense and helps.

However, for those using Tidal for DJ purposes, there will be an additional $9 monthly charge. Former Hi-Fi Plus subscribers will continue to pay $19.99 per month, but those previously on the Hi-Fi tier using DJ software will now face an extra $9 monthly fee. Apple Music remains at $10.99 per month for now, giving it an advantage for DJay Pro users. It's worth pondering if other DJ apps will integrate Apple Music and whether Apple will introduce an additional DJ tier in response to label requirements or for added benefits.

Library is, for us, a weak point of djay. you can transfer the music from laptop to iPhone using Apple's Music app which is the preferred way, with a USB cable.

@@digitaldjtips thanks! If I can expand…. My music is on an SSD so won’t be transferring any files from MacBook to iPhone. I’ve just started (in the last hour) building playlists and importing music into ‘music’ on the MacBook. I’ve set it NOT to make copies of my music on the MacBook internal drive… only want to use ‘music’ as a library. Ok… so DJay on the MacBook instantly sees these playlists, great so far. Then I go onto my phone (the same SSD containing the music is connected) but the music app says there is nothing there. It seems I might need to tell the music app on my phone that I want to use the external storage…. Can anybody tell me how to do this? : ) All I want (if Apple Music / iTunes is the way to go)… is to build playlists on my MacBook that will work in Djay on the MacBook AND on my phone when I plug the same SSD into either device.

@@digitaldjtips I’ve just had a conversation with the guy who makes the ‘DJCU’ DJ conversion utility, and he’s confirmed that the IOS and MAC OS Djay library files are not compatible. So that at least means I don’t need to continue thinking it must be an issue with my file paths etc. His utility can convert IOS Djay library files to MAC Apple Music (iTunes) playlists but not the other way around… for anybody reading who is interested.

Apple Music Integration is the feature that I really wanted. Unfortunately, there is a big drawback. Apple Music doesn't let me use Neural Mix in djay Pro. This really sucks.

Can you filter clean/explicit versions on apple streaming?
@digitaldjtips6 ай бұрын
Good question, I am sure you can but not sure how.
@DigitalExpressAI6 ай бұрын
You can but it is an all or nothing setting you do through your AppleID. Essentially, think parental controls and you turn on the explicit filter which blocks all explicit content. Another and much more tedious way is to tag your songs in some way Clean/Dirty and then use smart lists to ensure you have all clean music.

Record labels need to get it together. If you can’t play a song, no one can listen to it. Therefore, no buzz, hype, or interest in the song they spend thousands to promote.

Can any one help for some reason my djay pro app will not let me record purchased music from iTunes as now it comes up with a notification that’s the tracks are being used from a streaming service I’ve made multiple recordings for some years now so now I don’t know what has changed and what I need to do to carry on recording
@digitaldjtips2 ай бұрын
That's because you're using iCloud to play them, you have to upload to your device and play the "old" way to record.

No bpm data on Apple Music?

I love Apple Music, but that’s one thing Beatport does when it comes to DJ’s. Algorithm does tell you all that when you download it into its software, then you just arrange it from there.

On Apple Music meta data no, but dJay does it immediately on load so no big deal. It also basically mixes for you 😂

Two things… I think that we are fortunate that the embedded DRM did not disable stem use even if it is a song you own in your local library. Also, does toggling the library on and off enable allow you see see the playlists updated instead of restarting the app? I have found that to be a solution while using different libraries in Serato.
@digitaldjtips6 ай бұрын
Stems are disabled with Apple Music for all music, owned and streamed. Didn't try toggling on and off but yeah, that'd probably work too - thanks!
