The tune is based from a filipino nursery rhyme and the chorus is about the game hide-and-seek, that in 1, 2, 3 you have better hide, "hala" in translation can be "come on" or "or else"! I like the twist they added though.

Sorry po ah but "but they are just new" really? A'tin, Magiliw, Bullet, Pearl, Zaia, We Go & Bloom here 🤗. #PPOPRISE

Last month ko lang din sila nakilala kaya I'm getting to know them by watching vlogs nila since 2020, Alamat ng Alamat po pangalan. May mga nalagas na ring members kaya di rin biro yung journey nila, support them pleeasee. Tulad nga ng sabi niyo may X factor sila.

The horns part in the chorus is basically what you hear during street dances at festivals like Dinagyang. Also, the tune of the chorus, is Sitsiritsit Alibangbang, a nursery rhyme. So basically, this song is like their diss track. I love it. ❤️❤️❤️.

Adding to all the comments... There's two words to check on HALA and HALAGA the connotations of HALA here could be the following: Hey!, Oh No! Boo (like when you're scaring someone)! HALAGA connotes "Worth", "Price"... We love you April for all these RVs... just be you... they understand, they are Viva Artists... It ain't Viva if it's not something 🥵🔥😉

ILY ILY & Hala are inspired by Filipino folk songs, ili ili & sitsiritsit, respectively . Probably this is why they have that unique sound. It seems that JPL & Mr. Protacio already have mastered mixing folk songs to Alamat's music ^_^

Don't be so shy, April, I think Team Alamat likes you too. I really like the way you react because you listen to the details of the music you're hearing, and you pay attention to the instruments, and sounds. I'm sure the people who made the music appreciate that as well.

6:51 I love this part. But it so strange but it kind of reminds me of a song by a UK artist called Slaves or even The King Blues. The grit in their voices, with a bit of soul, then the drums and guitar, has a little touch of the sound from back then 2010s with Tagalog makes for a treat I never knew I needed.

Loving your Alamat and Ken/Felip reactions, April, it cracks me up. Speaking of Alamat, RJi and Tomas did some acting in Ataska's music video called Marupok. The MV just dropped today. They both are very cute here.

It's so funny whenever I listen to this😆Such as festive song but the lyrics, and the "Hala!" sounds really sarcastic to me AHHAAH. And the " masakit ba an makita, and tagumpay ko sa kabila..." It sounds a lot like the nursery song "sitsiritsit alibangbang" which makes it sounds more funnier and sarcastic to me hahahah. I love this songs!

They always come up with the funniest lyrics. Ever since they debuted with kbye, they've been killing it with the sarcasm. Even Say U Love Me pre-chorus gave me life with the "thanks, but actually no thanks" line. Don't even get me started with Aswang-

The horns and drums are the instruments you usually hear during parades in fiestas (festivals) here in the Philippines.

this is so much fun if you read the lyrics. this is a song for the haters disguised as a festival song 😄

I don't even know if the translation will do the original lyrics justice. The tagalog lyrics are excellent poetry in my opinion.

Hala is not really a word, it is more of an expression. It is used to frighten someone for having done or about to do something wrong. This song is about those who wish to tear them down but this is not the usual song for bashers cause instead of just saying that they will persevere despite of bashing and calling out bashers, they encouraged their bashers to move forward with them and join their journey. And instead of their trademark, "Alamat, handa 'rap", they included the whole Philippines in saying "Pilipinas, handa 'rap" on the last part.

You were right on the money about Hala having anthem vibes because in their vlogs, when they were practicing, they mentioned it's supposed to be like a sports anthem with the never-give-up Filipino spirit. Like a "no matter what you say, we winning" type of thing diss. 🤎 The word Hala roughly translates to "Uh oh!" or "Oh no!" or "And I oop-". 🤣But what took me by surprise is when they sang "Pilipinas, handa, harap!" then followed it with "Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao", like omgggg get the whole country behind your backs, kings!

If you don’t know what a fiesta/festival sounds like in the Philippines, this is it. Listening to this song for the first time when it released really gave me flashbacks of fiestas with the drums, the horns…everything! Made me a bit emotional too cause I’ve been away for so long 😣😭🤎

It's a diss track and the lyrics is full of mockery and sarcasm but oh my god if I was the hater, I wouldn't feel hate. They were rapping in their respective languages as well. Mo did a two liner Zambal expression of irritation but I think he mispronounced the last word (according to a Zambal reactor I saw) although I think it was intentional to rhyme with the prior verses from Tomas. It's really just a festive diss track, it's so Alamat.
